You get the added bonus of encrypted communications if your recipient is using it, too (if I understand correctly). It does ask for another, non-Proton mail, email account for sending a verification email and says it doesn't use it for anything else. I am looking for recommendations of free email services where I can sign up for an email account without providing a phone number, or recovery email address, to create an email account that is not connected to any of my other contact information.
I do NOT need a recovery option for lost password and I do NOT want two factor validation. However, I would like a webmail interface to see my emails and want this to be more than a disposable email service that keeps incoming email for only a few minutes.
It is OK if storage space is limited or if I have to login occassionally to keep the account from being deleted for inactivity.
(mail.com used to fill this bill until they started requiring a phone number to sign up for an account.)
