July 27, 2021 - I was going to rebuild it but when I went to the local Cub Cadet dealer to get the rebuild kit a new carb was only a little bit more than the kit I just got the new carb and was done with it. I have the old one and might take it apart and clean it and put it on the shelf. That being said.... see if you can find someone with a medium size ultrasonic cleaner. I have one at my shop and that is what I have been using on carburetors.

December 14, 2023 - Again, I have a 2018 Cub Cadet XT1 LT42 with the Kohler 5400 series engine 18HP 541 cc KS540.

After 3 years of faithful service my XT1 (Kolher 7000 engine) wouldn't start this year...it would crank and crank but no fire unless it had some carburetor cleaner in the carburetor at which point it would fire up for a second or two with heavy smoke. I put in 93 octane fuel, installed a new fuel filter, fuel pump and carburetor.

If I pull both butterfly's open then Upon (KEY ON) only the outside to filter one goes through that close then reopen to proper amount startup routine, but the inside one doesn't, (and it was closed upon removal of carb) so it had flooded the whole head I blew tons of fuel out cranking with carb off and air sprayed from my compressor. I would think it also should go through a startup routine of closer then opening again as needed by the computer. Either I have a bad Intellipower computer or this inside servo motor is bad as it never moves acting dead. This damn mower only has 20 hours on it. So much for me thinking Cub Cadet was a quality mower.
