Sometimes I’ll see something at a thrift shop that screams, “Help! I don’t belong here!” This was one of those items. Before I opened it, I expected to be let off the hook by finding a horribly chipped interior finish. Nope. Pristine. The only “issue” I can find is a chip in the outer enamel, at the bottom edge, the size of a point pen tip. Other than that, I can’t see any evidence this thing has even been used. Been wanting to try an a Dutch oven with an enameled finish, so I couldn’t pass this up for $16. I’m going to pull my raw cast iron 5qt Lodge out of the rotation and give this one a try for the foreseeable.
I need to purchase a new Dutch Oven to replace the 50-year old Le Creuset I got from my mother.
But, instead of a new Le Creuset, should I look into a Cuisinart, or some other brand?
What do folks like?
