FWIW it’s a diminishing field and hugely over saturated because everyone thinks, “wow! Remote work with no experience and I don’t have to talk on the phone?”. With no experience I would be shocked if you’d make more than $15 an hour doing it - plus, a lot of companies outsource it or have contractors (ie no benefits or part time only) do it anyway. My first FT job out of college had a lot of data entry work and it was boring. Your eyes get blurry and dry staring at the same shit over and over again, you make little mistakes because it’s so boring you can’t be assed to pay attention. Coworker and I ended up automating a lot of it by the time I left. I wouldn’t get your hopes set on finding a data entry job because they’re hard to come by and the job market is filled with scammy companies offering outlandishly high wages for it. If you see a company you can’t find a google page for offering $25 an hour for a data entry clerk it’s a scam or fake. They’re out there, but get your goals set and learn skills to make yourself an experienced candidate for other jobs. More on reddit.com

For actual remote job data entry, I’ve had the best⁤ luck going through big staffing agencies such as Kelly, Robert Half, Randstad, and filtering for remote + temporary/part-time, they at least vet the clients and you’re on payroll, not wiring money to some rando on Telegram. All the survey/affiliate stuff is fine as extra, but I treat it like pocket money; for example I mess around with Mistplay on my phone when I’m on hold or watching TV and just roll the points into Amazon gift⁤ cards to cover little work from home things like cables, notebooks, etc., not as anything close to real income. Data entry might scale better to a general office worker position as you didn’t mention any IT skills in your post. I’d recommend a couple of entry level certifications like A+ and Network+ to have something technical on your resume. Entry lvl IT is competing against a lot of fresh faced college grads wanting to work the help desk. The certs are worth more than a 4 year degree imo in terms of gauging skill lvl if you have no xp.
