Ordered one and wanted to give some brief impressions for the ones who will / is considering it.
It is really small and the screen is really taking almost all the space, bezels are minimal.
The screen is bright enough, however uses PMW for dimming and therefore might harm your eyes in the long-term
Webcam shutter is good feature, but it is so stiff that you barely can close the cam with it
Keyboard is big, but the keys are made of very soft plastic, so the tactile feedback when typing is very strange and unclear. I had an experience with XPS13 in ~2017 and it has the same softy keys. Did not like it at all.
The USB-A port is foldable, it is really not easy to stick-in flash drive or the cable. Also hardly you can keep USB receiver for mouse constantly, since when in use it is sticking-out of the laptop body. Not nice.
Finally, the laptop came with defect - big blueish spot on the screen visible on the black background - so had to send it back.
Hope these considerations might be of use for somebody who is considering to buy this machine.
I have decided to switch to Lenovo Yoga Slim 7i Pro.
Bought this Inspiron 13 5310 in September 2022 (still a few days left for Costco warranty). Will Costco or Dell cover this under warranty?
The hinge is broken with normal use.
If no, can anybody tell the part number to order and may be a video tutorial for this particular model.
Regards
Only way to find out is call or stop by Costco. I'd replace it with a Dell Latitude 5xxx. Hinge issues with Inspirons for the longest time. I'll never buy an Inspiron laptop again. I'll stick with their business enterprise line of Latitude or Precision laptops.
Most likely you only had a 1 year warranty through Dell. So if you had a 2 year warranty through Costco they will be the one to replace it.
