The Latitude 7000-series line of laptops is excellent, well built, sturdy and durable, as befits a high-end business computer. I use a 15" Latitude 7520 of the same generation. The 7320 should handle your described use case with ease. As an aside (in response to another comment), RAM is integrated so you will not be able to upgrade RAM in the future. I wouldn't worry about it. My 7520 is also 16GB and doesn't even breath hard running SolidWorks CAD and similar high-resource applications. My best and good luck. Dell Latitude 7320 in 2024
It is a well-packed machine for most daily tasks (apart from resource-intensive apps). I would consider a 14 inch model at all costs because those are more repairable (by not having soldered RAM) and offer more ports alongside a more comfortable keyboard. More on reddit.com

Anyone using Latitude 7320 (laptop)? Any feedback?
Since at least a couple folks seem to be interested, I can provide an update here. I finally bit the bullet and got Latitude 7320 - laptop version. It’s the same form factor as that of 7290, but with a larger screen. My current home office setup w/ Dell Dock WD15, worked flawlessly too. Pretty happy with the device in general. Something I noticed, the pricing on Dell.com was much higher for similar config on Amazon. I ended up buying on Amazon - it came with a smaller SSD than I wanted, but I upgraded to a larger SSD since I was planning on reinstalling the OS. Overall, I am glad that there’s a replacement available for the 7290 series and 7320 seems to be perfect. More on reddit.com

I see good deals online for these refurbished. Definitely tempting for a Windows tablet, but I see reviews all over the place and it is a 3 year old product line. Can anyone make recommendations for or against picking one up in 2024?

Just took delivery of mine. I5 1140G7; 16GB RAM. So far I am pretty impressed with it. Build quality and design are great. The screen, even though I thought the "low" resolution would bother me, is actually very good as well, so no complaints here. Battery life for office tasks seems to be around 6-7 hours. What I dislike: The keyboard to some extent, even though key travel as well as feedback are very nice, you cannot lie it flat on the table, so there is always a little bit of wobble when typing. That being said, it is still a fantastic keyboard and I can write fast and without errors. Performance: Obviously in the tablet, DELL put the low power variants of the I5 and I7 chips. Performance for everyday tasks is very snappy, but if you plan on doing something more intensive like playing games, I would strongly advise against. I tested Apex Legends on it and while the machine has the potential to run it, it throttles the CPU down to 400MHZ from time to time. I only encountered this bevhaviour when playing, have not had any issues with it outside of that. Overall, having spend around 24H with it, I think it is a fantastic little device if you want to use it for office work/data analysis and probably some light coding, as well as media consumption. The CPU handles all these tasks with ease and the tablet does not get loud. It is also pretty light for its size.

Update and solution on a pen issue here

-----

I thought I'd post this in the hope it helps someone. Help do what? you decide

I bought a latitude 7320 detachable earlier this year. I settled on it over a Surface because it seemed more robust, had 3 year warranty, and seemed better suited for work. I bought it as a personal device, with the intention of doing moderate work tasks (excel, word, pdf editor).

I received my laptop/tablet super quickly. I think i had it within 2 days of ordering it. I got the detachable keyboard and pen too. It was, at first, brilliant. I had considered the new XPS 13 2 in 1, but did there was no kickback stand, and the 1 year warranty was laughable (mind you, same thing with the Surface). Everything was great at first, I liked the keyboard, the pen was responsive, all my software loaded up quickly (and the start up time was crazy fast). I was really happy. What was to come...

I was working on some work files, saved on a usb stick (the tablet thingo comes with 2 usbc ports, so you'll need an adapter for anything you want to plug in. I had a little adapter, and connect the usb to it. No issue so far. All of the sudden, it shut down. When I say shut down, I don't mean the screen you see when you're shutting down your device. I don't mean the screen you get when a device has ran out power. No. I mean pull battery out sort of shut down. Drop dead.

Although I had the charger connected, I innocently thought the battery had died. I tried to turn it back on. DEAD.TO.THE.WORLD, people. Not even the light indicator was on. I was so confused. I tried to turn back on. Nothing. Dang. Try again. Nothing. Try once again, maybe hold down the button a tic longer. Nothing. What the actual hell!?

I tried, for the next 15 minutes, to revive the thing. At some point, I pressed the on button again, and it worked. phew!.

No, people, no phew. It has been happening every single day, multiple times a day. I have used different USB sticks. Same thing happens. I have been in contact with Dell 'support' since the second time it happened. It has been an infuriating experience, echoing the experience many have said they've had. In theory you're speaking to a person (my foot!). They don't read what you say, ask you to try the same fix over and over again, and that's when they are not telling you things completely not applicable to your device (no, I can't remove the battery, and they should know that!). They send you links with obsolete steps. They are exhausting.

I hate that this is what the go has been. I am currently awaing the technician to come out to replace something, but of course there is a 2 week delay on the parts they want to replace.I hate I can't enjoy the potential this thing has. It could be great, but instead, it has been a part time job to try to get this resolved.

I'll update this post if (when) we get anywhere. I hope I come back to tell you all is well, and I'm happy with my purchase.

Right now who knows if I'll get to finish this post before this damn lemon shuts d

I've been a fan of their Latitude 12.3" series and am currently using 7290. It seems like they have discontinued this series. I am now considering moving to 7320, 13.3", i7 11th gen, non-touch version. I've tried for looking for reviews and such, but nothing out there and there's no way to check these out without buying them.

If you happen to be using 7320 and would be willing to share your feedback, I'd very much appreciate it.

I have been using Latitude 7xxx series models for 10 years now in different sizes (14'', 13.3'', 13'') and got the latest 7420 a few months ago, the i7 version. So far, I am very impressed, it is the best iteration so far and it is the perfect size for me. Screen is 14'' but as the bezel is very thin it is pretty much the same size as previous gen 13.3''. I use it 80% of time hooked to dual screen setup and 20% of time as a laptop. Usage - regular office work, a lot of excel, powerpoint. Main impressions so far: - seriously improved camera, good quality for videocalls - lightning fast (i7) and quiet but I'm not sure if its due to the processor, the battery is not as good as before. I get maybe 3-4 hours battery worktime out of it, maybe I have wrong power settings, I haven't really optimized anything there. - very good keyboard, good design, has HDMI + regular USB output + 2 USB-C, enough for me - good touch screen - very very very bad speakers, the worst for any Latitude I have had over past 10 years, the speakers don't even suffice for videocalls when you forget your earbuds. So to sum up, highly recommended unless the speaker quality is a dealbreaker for you. Battery could be better, otherwise a very good laptop.
