I did the switch in February, after 12 all-Mac years and two mixed (Lenovo laptop and iMac 5K), to a Dell Precision 5530 4K. Super happy from my choice. I find Windows 10 slightly better than the last MacOSes (after 10.8, the stability decreased sharply, and the possibility to customise the OS has been slashed, while Windows 10 finally brought Microsoft to the 20th century). But, more importantly, the Apple machine are becoming super-expensive toys, with poor features and zero possibility to upgrade anything. Never mind, I'm fine with both my personal Dell and the Lenovo I use for work. More on reddit.com

My suggestion is to run the 2nd option on the User guide, pushing you to 2.5TB (very nice!). The Optane memory option is more useful if you want faster disk speeds (useful when loading up large programs) and works best for caching your most regularly used files/folders for even faster access. If you want to use a SATA SSD or HDD on this laptop, you need to buy a SATA enclosure with a USB 3.0 cable to any of the external USB 3.0 ports (i.e. acting like a external HDD).
