Hi everyone,
I'm looking to buy a used Dell XPS from eBay. I came across one in really nice condition with following specifications for $240 (free shipping with 30 day return):
Dell XPS 13 9350 FHD
CPU: Core i5-6200U 2.30GHz
RAM: 8GB
Storage: 128GB SSD
Battery Condition: Excellent
Do you guys think it is a good deal? Also, I've always loved the XPS sleek design. I'll be mainly using it for browsing, emails, occasional MATLAB, multimedia etc. Nothing heavy. I've a gaming PC for heavy tasks. Also, I guess due to TPM requirements this laptop may not support win 11, not a big deal but would have been nice if it worked. I plan to change the SSD to a spare 960 EVO Samsung 512GB SSD I've.
I have always been a Mac user when it comes to laptops, but recently after moving to M1 Macs I've had a bit of issue with some windows apps via parallel. So, decided to get a used cheap windows laptop for work purpose under $400.

Given the amount of issues I had with mine, no. I am now using an ASUS Zenbook. Will NEVER go back to Dell.

I know this is an old post - but I bought an XPS 13 9350 back in 2016 (or whenever it was) 8GB/256GB i7-6560U Absolute worst laptop I ever owned. It had the screen replaced twice and the motherboard 3 times by Dell under warranty. The coil whine never went away and still occurs (I still have the laptop - wife uses it if she has to work somewhere away from the desktop - but it has to be plugged in - otherwise it runs out of juice in about 1.5 - 2 hours Even though I had set the "Battery care" settings to not charge the battery above 80% - by the time it was 3 years old it had over 30% battery wear. The Asus Zenbook (i7-8th gen) I replaced it with - with the same max 80% charging of the battery set - only had about 7% battery wear. The only good things I can say about the Dell is the form factor with the slim bezels is nice, the carbon fibre look on the body is good (but now this many years later is feeling a bit stick in some places) and the laptop itself feels like it's carved out of granite - fantastic built quality meanwhile my Asus flexed and creaked from day one.
