Hello…thanks for the quick response. I tried what you said. The BIOS states 150W under AC Adapter Type. I also unplugged it to see if the BIOS detected a change, and it did…it stated NONE. So it seems to be detecting ok, right? Something I might not have said in original post is that the light continues to blink whether running on AC power or Battery power. While plugged in, the battery meter always states 'a percentage' 'plugged in' 'not charging'… but battery seems to be charging. Current state is [96% available (plugged-in, not charging). I would think the battery should be a lot less than this by now if not charging. Strange. I just unplugged the battery with the system running to test the battery meter on the battery…shows all led lights lit. However, when I just plugged the battery back in, a Windows message appeared stating 'The model number for the primary battery is non-recommended. The battery cannot provide sufficient power to run the system on battery mode. Please insert a Dell battery for best system operation.' I would had never seen this unless I would have unplugged and replugged the battery with windows running. The original battery and the battery I just purchased are both from Dell. They are 'Dell Battery Module, Type R795X Rating: 11.1V Capacity 90Wh. Hope this helps. Sounds like a system/bios update issue of not detecting the battery properly, right? Thanks again.

(Solution for models with removable RAM sticks) · The issue you're experiencing is due to the CPU overheating, which causes the solder connections on the "SLOT A" memory RAM to become soft and detach from the motherboard. · When you disassemble your laptop, you may notice melted rosin or flux residue. · Unfortunately, there isn't a permanent fix for this. · One temporary solution is to apply pressure to the top of the RAM holders to try and secure a good connection, which might prevent the laptop from displaying the "2 amber + 4 white" error code. · However, the best option is to use "SLOT B" and upgrade the memory stick in that slot. Hi, Thanks for your reply. The battery is supposed to be genuine and looks exactly the same as the original one. It is properly recognized by Dell Command Power Manager, which does not indicate any issue with the battery. In the detailed infos, it says the battery is a Dell battery manufactured by LG. But the serial number looks a bit strange (only 4 hex digits). I tried your reset procedure, it did not change anything :-(

If take a guess you have an inspiron desktop pc with only two DIMM. one model comes to mind: inspiron 3650. LED blinking is nonspecific and you can not have unwavering faith in it. try clear cmos settings.
