I can’t seem to find an easy lookup for handles this old. Any ideas how to figure out what I need before tackling the project?

You can’t. But I can tell you it’s a 1300

It's either the Delta RP46074 or a Delta RP19804. There's no way to tell which one it is until you take it apart. So buy both and return the one you don't use.

Delta shower faucet still drips after cartridge replacement. Ideas?

EDIT: Solved! Using very thorough (but gentle) removal of all deposits, and additional grease on the o-rings. The old cartridge is pictured. After I removed it, I looked and felt inside the brass valve body. I gently scraped away some deposits with a flathead screwdriver, then used a normal toothbrush all around the inside to make sure it was smooth enough for the new cartridge to slide in. I purchased an expensive genuine cartridge from Lowes. It was a straightforward swap so when it dripped again (possibly more rapidly) after restoring the water supply, I really couldn't think of what to try next. More on reddit.com
