Reviews for plumbing fixtures are unreliable because a lot of the bad reviews are from home owners that didn't install them correctly and can't address other related issues in their plumbing system. Delta is a solid brand and has a good warranty. More on reddit.com

Remodeling our 3 bathrooms and after days of research, talked myself out of Chinese brands on Amazon and settled on Delta. But now I am reading so many bad reviews of Delta on build.com and Lowe's. Same for Moen. Why do contractors recommend Delta / Moen / Kohler despite all the bad reviews?

Reviews for plumbing fixtures are unreliable because a lot of the bad reviews are from home owners that didn't install them correctly and can't address other related issues in their plumbing system. Delta is a solid brand and has a good warranty.

Contractors will recommend because it is easy to find parts for and not an expensive repair. If it goes bad on you in the future almost every plumber will be able to repair it same day. A foreign brand you won't be so lucky, and it will likely cost double at minimum due to having to special order parts. It is worth noting, the faucets for these brands you get at a Lowe's/Home Depot, are not the same as if you got it at a plumbing supply store. The Home Depot ones are cheaper in price and quality and it is noticeable.

May 22, 2022 - I only see those installed on mobile home fixtures and they have access/removable panels behind the showers. It's a personal preference to me. Other than that, it looks like a good install. One last thing, where is the wand mounting? Since it's Delta, is the slider rod being installed?

Hey Reddit. First time doing a bathroom reno (hired pros, not me) and I need to get pluming fixtures ASAP.
After doing some research, it seems like Delta is a decent brand with parts available. I know there are more premium brands, but I'm concerned with part availability.
I've been using build.com to search for a Delta Brass kit. I landed on the Ashlyn 17 series, but reviews say it's still made of plastic?? Delta website is useless for filtering by construction material.
I'm looking for a tub/shower fixture and rough in, around the $500 range, but can stretch it to $1k if needed.
