if life is devoid of meaning, isn’t it justifiable we seek comfort in delusions?

Tips for when life and the world seem devoid of meaning
Art and nature and animals. Volunteer for a cause bigger than yourself that doesn’t trigger you. Something rooting you in a more instinctual relations (ie with animals), innocence and hope and dynamic tangible improving outcomes (children, local river clean ups type of thing), peaceful cycle of life (gardening, food growing, tree work), connections across difference and time (fine art, music). Some things that help that are more internal, connections to life in you and the humanity within you (dance, philosophy, proper meditation, trauma-rooted yoga). These are the things worth living for when grown people fail us. I also think you owe yourself some kudos for recognising how you feel is not unchangeable and the only reality you could experience, and try to find alternatives for action. Keep going bit by bit and go soft, rest and safety are priorities and often alleviate the sense of hopelessness too if there’s burnout/freeze element to it. More on reddit.com

Me and my gf have been arguing if Devoid can be used as a verb or just an adjective. It is in the oxford dictionary as both but other sites state only an adjective. What is the consensus?
