Is there a site anywhere that has a **chronological** list of every confirmed dinosaur species?
One for every dinosaur species? Probably not. And that’s partly because i. palaeontologists do not even agree amongst themselves on a list of “confirmed dinosaur species” and ii. not all dinosaur fossils have been all that precisely dated. If you’re just after generic lists for inspiration, then try these: https://www.dinosaurjungle.com/dinosaur_facts_timeline.php http://palaeos.com/vertebrates/dinosauria/dinosauria.html https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dinosaur#Evolutionary_history More on reddit.com
I'm attempting a list of the 100 best / most unique / most important dinosaurs. Who should be added and who should be cut?
To explain my methodology to get this first draft of a list, I included every dinosaur with at least 200k search results on google, then added a couple extra dinos that I thought were important enough to be included. This of course is a very flawed system, so I'm hoping this Sub will help me fill in the gaps. The general criteria I'm looking for is dinosaurs that hold some notable historical, biological, or pop culture significance. World record dinos is something I am trying to include as well. I didn't include any dinos like Brontosaurus and Dracorex however as current scientific knowledge suggests that these were actually preexisting species. If I accidentally included any dinos that also fall in that category, let me know. More on reddit.com

Give me dinosaur names and facts!
Yinlong was the earliest known ceratopsian, even though it looked nothing like Triceratops. Its name means "hidden dragon", after the movie Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon Psittacosaurus was another weird early ceratopsian. It's one of the dinosaurs whose appearance scientists know the most about, and it had a bunch of fancy bristles on its back Liaoningosaurus was the first known ankylosaurid to have a tail club, and it may or may not have been a semiaquatic omnivore Yi qi was a tiny theropod that could glide from tree to tree like a flying squirrel. It had both feathers and bat-like wings Yutyrannus was a close-ish relative of T. rex, and it was the largest dinosaur known to have a full coat of feathers Hesperornis was a Mesozoic bird that looked like a giant flightless cormorant with teeth Argentinosaurus was one of the largest land animals of all time, at around 100-115 feet long and 70-90 tons Mononykus was another tiny theropod, and it might have filled a similar niche to modern anteaters More on reddit.com

r/Dinosaurs on Reddit: Is there a site anywhere that has a **chronological** list of every confirmed dinosaur species?
September 5, 2022 -
I’m working on a personal project and was curious if there was anything similar to a graphical timeline that lists when every dinosaur lived, in every geological stage of the Mesozoic (ie., the Tithonian, the Albian, etc.- not just “early Jurassic,” “late Cretaceous” etc.)
I know it’s a bit specific, but even if there’s a scaled down version of this I’d love to take a look if anyone has any links.
