Since the latest update on Disney plus, it won't properly connect to my Chromecast. It worked perfectly until this update but now it connects, shows the Disney logo, stays buffering, doesn't go beyond that and then disconnects from the Chromecast. I've logged out and reinstalled Disney, did a factory reset on the Chromecast, checked other apps on it which all worked fine, just not Disney. I can't find any specific info to help resolve this. Any ideas would be much appreciated, thanks.
Hi everyone. Since today if I try to Chromecast Disney plus from my phone it doesn't work... Basically while loading the video the phone goes to screen locked (idk how you say that in English) and basically I have to put my lock screen password again to use my phone... I... Don't get it... How is that even possible?

Summary: if you have problems with streaming Disney+ on a Chromecast with GoogleTV, there's a possibility that it may be solved by changing the "Display and Sound" settings of the Google TV. Read on for more.
I had a problem with streaming programs on a Chromecast with GoogleTV 4K. Everytime I started a program, I would get this message
"Something went wrong. Please try again. If you continue to have issues, please visit our Help Center at help.disneyplus.com".
That's a terribly uninformative message, probably caused by a catch-all exception.
So, I read the help pages and found nothing. I chatted with support and they made me do a bunch of installation/deinstallation/disconnect/reconnect routines. Didn't help. Called live support. Same thing. They told that there was an avalanche of tickets with the same problem. They thought it had something to do with IPv6.
I remembered that half a year ago there were horrible issues with Disney+ and my Bluetooth speaker, where there would be video playing but no sound.
So, I figured that the cause might be similar. I have an IKEA Bluetooth speaker connected to the Chromecast + Google TV 4k. When the speaker is on, I got the error. When it was switched off, I no longer got the error. But then I don't have sound. Luckily that can be fixed!
In Google TV, go to the main settings menu, then select "Display and Sound" (you may need to scroll up), then select "Advanced Sound Settings" and instead of "Automatic" select "None: never use surround sound".
You can also play around with the manual settings and see what surround format works for you if you have a similar problem with an actual surround system.
I hope this helps some people with the same issue. I offered to explain the issue to Disney+ support, but they didn't bother to call me back. Other big streaming apps play fine with this setup. It's only Disney+ which gives problems for me. Horribly uninformative error message didn't help.
My chromecast had stopped working for haf a year so they sent me a replacement now. Brand new one. I set it up and it still wont load. Is it bad luck or has chromecast just stopped functioning?
When I open the app, I get the logo and after that it is just a blank screen. How can I solve this?
More than half of Disney+ content is not playing on Google TV Streaming devices.
When attempting to play, a "something has happened" error message appears, suggesting contacting support.
On other devices, such as Chromecast 4K, Xiaomi Mi Box, and TVs, the entire catalog works normally.
This issue began with the December 9th update.
Installing the previous version, from November 21st, resolves the problem.
After three hours of discussions with Disney representatives, geolocation, remote IP address changes, app uninstallation, device shutdown, security, Wi-Fi speed and latency, profile changes, and adjustments to data usage within the app were tested, but nothing resolved the issue. The conclusion was that the problem stems from a temporary incompatibility between Disney's and Google's software.
Therefore, until Disney updates its app, the recommendation is to install the previous version to continue viewing all content.
(Content such as "El encargado", "Beatles Anthology", "Nothing", "Los Mufas", "Industry at War", are just some examples of content inaccessible since the December 9th version)
I try to cast anything else, Netflix, Xfinity, my screen, whatever, it works just fine. And if I try to watch the movie just on my computer it works fine. But if I try to cast the Disney+ tab, my tv gets a screen with the Disney+ logo that says "Ready to cast from your phone, laptop, or tablet" and the website goes to a black page with the Disney+ logo. Also I've been stopping and starting the cast, refreshing the page, stuff like that to try to make it work and twice I've briefly gotten a screen that says error code 43, which doesn't even make sense because that's the code for if the video isn't actually available on Disney+ - but it works fine if I'm not trying to cast it. Has anyone run into this or have any ideas?
After the fix I were able to use the Chromecast normally but starting yesterday I can't stream Disney plus on it anymore. It starts loading but the screen stays all black... I have the newest app version installed, YouTube and prime works just fine!
