Are Drolet cheap stove?

There are lots of cheap stoves out there. Drolet is one of the few that seem to make a good product. Yeah, they won't be pretty but I have heard they work well and typically hold up. By contrast vermont castings make beautiful stoves but are very finicky. More on reddit.com

My partner and I just closed on a house. I’ve never had a wood stove before but we live in a place with long winters and I like the idea of having one more for the “cozy factor” than heating the whole house. It is a new build, so we have cove heaters. It is about 1,300 sqft total, but we will use it mostly for the living room and kitchen (open plan) so we don’t need a big stove. Because of this (and budget constraints) I’m looking at the Drolet Deco Nano wood stove. Per their guidance of the climate zone, we are in zone 7-8 which means the stove is good for about 900 sqft.

Any thoughts on the brand or experience with this model in particular?

Drolet Escape 1800 here in a 1400 sqft home. Had the fan option as well. Works amazing and have zero regrets
