I haven’t taken that specific one but I always found google courses to be good overviews but not go as in depth as I’d like or offer nearly enough exercises. I was lucky to have the opportunity to learn these things in school so I don't really know how a self-teaching process would look like but I just want to say that the important thing is to understand the algorithms and data structures, and being able to analyze the pros and cons. Most programmers don't need to implement their own linked lists or sorting algorithms very often. Often they can just use whatever the language/library provides, but having an understanding of how it works allows you to make better tradeoffs. If you're running into performance issues you're more likely to understand why and how to fix it. If you can't find an algorithm that fits your problem exactly you might have to come up with your own but you can probably borrow many ideas from other algorithms that you've studied even if they're not exactly the same. That's why I think you should focus on understanding the things. Memorizing algorithms exactly to be able to write them without looking them up is less important, at least in the long run. These are fundamental structures found in almost every language. Knowing how the hashing of a map works, how a linked list works, or evaluating O complexity are things that take a dev to the next level. Knowing how to talk about these things in an interview is very rewarding. I've been asked about the O complexity of such a structure in an interview. It's also very interesting personally.
