Is a Duvet Insert the Same as a Comforter? | The Company Store
September 2, 2023 - We’ll show you the differences between a duvet and a comforter and how to choose which option works best for you. A duvet is a top layer of bedding constructed with an outer shell, usually white, filled with lofty down or down alternative fill. r/Bedding on Reddit: Using comforter as duvet insert
May 23, 2022 -

Hey all! I've been diving deep into the rabbit hole of bedding and mattresses lately as I'm looking to upgrade, and I have a question.

So I know that a comforter is different than a duvet. I currently have a comforter, and just ordered a bed set that includes a duvet cover. I've noticed that's pretty much the standard from where I've looked, that duvet covers don't usually come with an insert. I could buy an insert, but damn, turns out they're also expensive!

What are everyone's thoughts on using my current comforter as the duvet insert? Is that crazy? I would only do this until I can comfortably purchase a decent duvet insert, but could it be fine in the meantime as long as it fits?

October 29, 2020 - Not an expert or anything and just kinda learned these things but I believe a duvet is basically a giant pillow case where you put it on a blanket or comforter. There's little ties and loops around the edges on the comforter and inside the duvet cover to hold them together.
