I totally agree with you. They brought a beta update with the binning-off and Moon- and Sun stacking possibility, but since then nothing. Also, they use the TestFlight app, but each beta-version runs out of time without them renewing the TestFlight app. You need to ask them each and every time if you pretty please can test out a new version. I'm starting to believe that they have no idea how TestFlight actually works. I'm beta-testing many applications through the TestFlight-app, for many years now, and it's only struggling with the Dwarflab app. Most companies would be glad with many people wanting to test their apps on many different devices and giving feedback. At the moment Dwarflab is very busy with a huge update of the app which will be out any day now (although that's what they told me when they refused my application for beta-testing a few weeks ago). No other option then to wait, wait, wait and checking for updates every few days and then wait wait wait again. I definately don't want to sound negative about Dwarflab (I really weally love my Dwarf II), but the waiting is a bit frustrating. More on reddit.com

So I've carried my telescope once again out to the woods where there is no cell phone service. But I do have connection to an internet at the camp. I can't seem to get into STA mode to download the atlas though. Why I need to download the atlas when I've already downloaded the app is not apparent to me. Why the f*** wouldn't that just be part of the app? Anyhow, apparently if I want to use this thing I need to be out in a dark place with little light and a good signal. Anyone know a spot like that that I could come too?

Atlas has a catalog that gets updated on occasion - hence the “separate”. You do NOT need to connect to your dwarf or STA mode to get an update. Have your phone (use cellular service) or your tablet Connect to regular internet access point, then open the app, go to the atlas and it will prompt you for an update if there is an update to download. Then…..go back to the Home Screen and “connect” directly to your Dwarf and run your sessions. Make sure STA and any other connection function is turned off in the apps settings. You do not need or require any full internet connection while using your Dwarf. If you’re still trying to use your camps wireless network for an STA connection, there may be issues with how their devices or access points are configured to accept users devices, regardless of it being a password free setup, so that’s not entirely the dwarfs fault, but a consideration or suggestion you can report up to ask (DWARFLAB) them about their connection routing and how to can improve. Hi all!
I’m expecting my Dwarf 3 to arrive today! And like U do with all new tech things, I have been preparing my first moves with it well in advance so that I’m comfortable to get right into action!
One question I have is about STA mode. What happens if I put the Dwarf in STA mode and forget to turn it off one day… finding myself remote with the Dwarf still in STA?
I guess I could then spin up a hotspot (renaming my phone to the original SSID) and use another device to disable STA… but is there any other official procedure on how to disable STA in case you forgot to turn it off?

I also have a question about the STA mode and couldn't find an answer. It is somehow obligatory to turn on STA mode for Panorama Stitching. Which means, I can only do it at home and not mobile? Unless I have a second device/hotspot. This is stupid if I want to see the output directly during my photo sessions. I don't care about mobile data consumption. Any workarounds on this?

I am a fan of Dwarf-2 - I get a fair amount of enjoyment from the images I capture (mainly terrestrial). But perhaps I have missed something - seems like there has been no updates to the phone app or dwarf2 firmware for ages - since May? New stuff and improvements should be ongoing, especially in a young product like this. There is so much potential for improvement and extra features. Is everything OK at dwarflabs?

The current round of beta testing is going well, and looks very promising. I would expect a full update late Dec early Jan. They are being coy about the rewrite, but I believe it is out of under promising and over delivery.
