Any concerns I should have with the Dyson Ball Animal 2? Found a good deal at Costco.

Really not a deal. They've been selling that same upright for years and has many issues. Cost of maintenance for filter replacement alone is more than bags for just about any machine. There's a HEPA filter that needs to be replaced every 6 months. There's a secondary filter that needs to be washed every time you use it. On top of that the cleaner head has serious issues and you can expect repair on a regular basis for that thing. Personally I'd skip that and just go with the Hoover from the auto reply that's half the price and a much better cleaner. More on reddit.com

Just bought a Dyson animal 3+ at Costco did I screw up

Ball Animal 3 for $279 is a good buy if you want a bagless upright, but as others have stated - bags provide many benefits (specifically machine cleanliness and overall filtration). With a bagless machine, every time you empty the bin the dust goes flying… so make sure to empty it outside. Also - the cyclone pack will eventually get crudded up and start smelling like a musty dog. Thank goodness on a Dyson upright it’s fairly straightforward to clean it out, but still a project (on their stick vacs it’s an absolute nightmare). Contrast that with a bagged machine in which you simply… change the bag. The dust is all trapped inside, and quality machines even plug the bag when you remove it. Since the bag itself is your primary filter, every time you change it - you “refresh” your machine. Yes, there’s a nominal recurring cost… but bags go further than many people think they do, and some vacs have very large bags in the first place. More on reddit.com

Dyson big ball cinetic animal +allergy performance

I don't like Air Watts as a rating because it's fuzzy math. It involves power efficiency so a lower powered vacuum with less air flow could get the same Air Watt number as a more powerful vacuum that uses more electricity. I'm not a Dyson expert so I don't know the exact motor specifications but Dyson upright vacuums have a electric powered brushroll which adds to the total power used while Dyson canister vacuums do not have electric powered brushrolls. The canisters only have air-driven turbo brushes so the canisters use less electricity and therefore get a higher Air Watt rating. The other thing is canister vacuums have a longer hose and which usually makes a longer air path so you want a more powerful canister motor to compensate for the longer length the air has to travel. I prefer to look at air flow in CFM and Water Lift. CFM tells how much air is moved and Water Lift describes how powerful the suction is for lifting heavier particles. It's like Horsepower and Torque, one is not good without the other. More on reddit.com

Cinetic Big Ball Animal Canister Vacuum owners

Yeah the canister alone will be easier for your mom compared to the uprights Dyson makes. I personally went with Dyson cordless vacuums, the v11 specifically, it’s much lighter compared to my Dyson Small Ball Animal. Even the compact upright is heavy for me.

Is your cleaner head a flat head or a rounded in front head with brushes. If it has red and black brushes then it can be used on carpets no issues and hard floors. It’s also normal for it to be harder to push on carpets. Dyson suction is incredible. You just know that you’ll get a good clean with this.

And also you don’t have to worry about cleaning filters anymore as you got the cinetic version too!! Just gotta empty the bin with the point and shoot bin.
