Vacuum testers are not testing these vacuums for several years. Just like buying a nonstick pan, they work perfectly right out of the box. You can slide eggs on it with no oil. After a short time, the nonstick start starts to wear and you’re putting lots of oil into the pan m, and eventually you throw it out. That’s the same on these vacuums. Dyson and shark make vacuums that are pushed on QVC and through infomercials. Good quality vacuums are not in those types of ads nor are they being sold on QVC. Since you said you clean once per week and deep clean once per month, do you leave the rubber seals alone or clean them too? I read some day that you should not wipe the rubber seals even with water. I don’t exactly remember, but I think it was because it can remove some kind of factory-applied coating that helps with smooth opening of the can (reduces friction). They also recommended to just leave the rubber seals be dusty, they are intended to be dusty (it’s a vacuum) and the dust can work as sort of a ”dry lubrication” and prevent stickiness of rubber against plastic. Comments going back and forth when the real win here is COSTCO. majority of the negative Dyson comments are on longevity. Me personally my two Dysons are rock solid. However, Costco’s lifetime return nullify that risk, just keep the box/receipt and you should be good to go. More on reddit.com

What setting are you using it on? I also have the v-15 detect and on eco (with the laser brush) I can get upwards of 70 minutes. On medium it’s about 30-40. If I’m using the carpet head that’s about half on both modes ( I have pretty thick carpets so it take a bit more) More on reddit.com

This was my first cordless vacuum purchase. And so far it's been great in terms of functionality. I have a cat who sheds a bunch, and I've noticed that it really helps gather dust, hair, etc really well. However, I have noticed that it requires a decent amount of maintenance. I do a half-decent clean of the cyclone body and canister once a week, and usually do a full deep cleaning of the whole vacuum once a month.
What sort of irks me about the vacuum are the small things in regard to the parts themselves. Sometimes it's pretty hard for me to open and close the canister when emptying it. My hands are pretty strong! But it definitely seems like there's some resistance from dust and residue that gathers by the tip of the cyclone, where it connects to the wand. Also, the wand is sometimes hard to get off the cyclone when I want to dump material into the trash. I notice that it's almost every other time I go to detach the wand, it feels stuck.
Also, the rubber seal in the canister bin tends to get curled up into the cyclone, and doesn't seem to sit properly (as seen in photo 1). I think that this causes clumping of material in this area (as seen in photo 2).
Does anyone else have those either of those two issues? ^
If so, could you tell me how to fix them? I contacted support, but after they said they would send me a new canister, and wand, they said that they were out of stock. Later in the month after calling, I got an email saying that the parts were in stock. But then I clicked on the link and there was only an option to purchase them and nothing for warranty.
Other than those things I listed, I love the vacuum, I feel like it does such a good job getting everything on the floors and makes it quick and easy to vacuum up a lot in my house.

Pretty much what the title says. Ive been seing this price for the last 3 years while still hanging on to my DC14 from 2016 ( maybe older) but never bit the bullet. Is this price worth in 2025? I do really need a vaccum ASAP and I would like a cordless one this time

Prices are all over the place this year. I tried the Shark PowerDetect Cordless Stick Vacuum and the auto suction change saved me from messing with buttons. It can feel nice when the vacuum figures things out on its own.
