Hi, I have shipped order to Kuwait via ETSY's global postal shipping on Sept 9th, it's now about 6weeks and ETSY's last status update was Sept 24th with "departed in Kuwait". I believe the package may be lost and buyer is asking for a refund. I understand this order is ineligible for ETSY's seller protection, question is should I wait, refund right away or asking buyer to open a case with ETSY to resolve it?

I’m located in the US, I have 7 orders that have been marked as “in transit” for a month now in addition to one replacement that is also stuck. The tracking seems to have stopped updating after the packages were dispatched from the US to Canada and I’m not quite sure what to do. I’ve been in contact with several customers and I can’t get tracking updates on the Global Post website either. Should I just stop shipping to Canada entirely?
I have now had two packages go missing with Etsy’s global postal shipping and the items in both cases have ended up on eBay about half a year later (clearly identifiable because I put my name on all of my work). The first one was for sale by someone who runs a business selling USPS lost mail, and I just found the second yesterday, so I haven’t had the time to investigate much yet. Obviously I have stopped using this service, which is a shame because I liked how easy it was to make labels, etc, and for years have had no issues with it.
Has anyone else had this happen? With the first, I chalked it up to a freak accident where the label was destroyed, etc, but now that it has happened twice I’m suspicious it might not just be the incompetence that the Elk Grove USPS and Asendia facilities are well known for. The packages were both valuable (> $200), but the domestic label shouldn’t say the declared value?
I also don’t know if or how to even report this. If there’s a chance it was stolen, it would be nice to try and recover it via eBay, but I think that requires a police report. On the phone over a series of calls stretched out over weeks (months ago when it became clearer the package was lost), people at the Asendia facility repeated claimed to have received the second package although that was not reflected in the tracking, which showed it disappearing after the last USPS scan marking it as “delivered” to the shipping partner. I’ve heard that in addition to Asendia being incompetent, the Elk Grove USPS facility is also a black hole. However, it seems suspicious that two packages would just get “lost” like this in a row from the same facility, both to show up again for sale.
i’ve been combing for advice on global postal shipping as a buyer and oh boy this service seems annoying. i ordered a fairly large and partially custom order from the states (i’m in new zealand), and it shipped out last week.
it’s been marked as delivered in city of industry california since the 24th, no other motion, which seems weird that i would’ve thought it would have been forwarded onto international processing? it went to a post office there, was marked ready for pickup and then marked delivered. i asked the seller if they knew anything about it going international (noting some people asked for a customs ID from sellers to try and get some tracking) and they said they didn’t have any information of the sort. i tried the inspect element thing some people did and got a usps tracking number out of it that says the same as the etsy side and doesn’t indicate anything about international, was formatted as a domestic number too.
i’m kinda getting worried it’s not actually coming, seems dumb for etsy to say it’s delivered when it’s obviously not and hasn’t even left the states to come to new zealand. any advice or any way to contact etsy for global postal shipping queries as a buyer? thanks!
Hi. I figured out the tracking number which Etsy uses for showing on purchases sites!
**The situation was : Etsy showed tracking updates, but cannot find any tracking number on the botton of map on tracking page. / My package is shipped through Asendiausa and USPS.
I ordered some goods on Etsy. Sellers send it from USA, and also I required a tracking number of my package. So the seller thanksfully send to me, and it was 12 digit number only. I searched on google which tracking number use 12 digit, and the result was Fedex even though the shipping companies of my package are Asendiausa and usps.
Anyway, Using the number I received from seller, I pasted on asendia tracking site and other global shipping tracking site, But it didn't show anything even Etsy had shown some updates(like, Empty page). So I just use devtools on my purchases sites, and finally I find which number is the really one (lol, I have a huge obsession with tracking numbers. I do not want to wait without some info about my package)
When I found the number which is same with previous tracking number, it follows "labels_(my order number)", so I just pass it and find a new number which seems a real one which has 30 digit (cuz USPS package can be tracked by using 30 digit number!)

When I pasted the new one on USPS sites, it showed only a part of Starting shipping ~ "Delivered to Agent for Final Delivery"
But in Asendia site, I can found every tracking process and recent update! (and also provide the present tracking number. It can be used on other tracking websites)
It was so long post, but I just want some (global) buyer to get a good information about global shipping!
I bought a ring on Etsy for around £200, it was being shipped from New York to the UK with Global postal shipping that I tracked through Etsy.
It was really detailed tracking and I was able to see every distribution centre and scan it went through. After about 5 days tracking updated and said it was with customs in the UK.
Today it has updated 3 times. First saying it was ‘awaiting customs payment’ (which I was expecting), second then saying it was ‘available at pick up point’ and then thirdly saying it was delivered to my address.
But nothing has come through, not even a note telling me to pay the customs fees. Has anyone else had this? There’s no official tracking code, just tracking on Etsy. Should I message the seller? I’m not sure if they will be able to do anything but potentially they might have a tracking code for it, is what I’m thinking. Any advice or help massively appreciated!
Can anyone help me? A customer reached out for me to help them. They hadn’t received their package I sent in early May. The tracking through Global postal only states that it’s been delivered on May 29th in Belgium and waiting pick up. What can I do from the US? Is there a way to find out if I did something wrong when sending? Do I contact Etsy support? I admit I’m a bit confused about Global postal, assendia, and the Etsy connection. Btw, I printed and bought the label using Etsy labels. The only thing I can think is possibly I didn’t round up the weight. I cannot remember if I did on this. I didn’t realize I had to do this previously. The customer just contacted me today saying she received an email stating that it is going to be returned to sender. She didn’t say they gave her any reason. I personally haven’t gotten any notifications like this ever. She is asking me to stop this somehow. I do not know what my next steps should be.
