Saws
The new CSC SYS 50 is a saw built for life. The CSC is not just an extremely durable purchase for users, for our employee Dominic Ender, who was writing his thesis at Festool when the development phase started, constructing a mobile bench-mounted circular saw has been his life's work.

r/woodworking on Reddit: Should I buy a Festool sword saw or this monster?
July 15, 2017 -

In the near future I have to do quite a few lapjoints on some big timber (20x20 cm - 8x8 inches for you Yanks out there)

I thought this would be an insanely good excuse to buy the Festool swordsaw - but lo and behold that is one piece of expensive machinery. So I searched around for alternatives, and ended up thinking that the Prazi beam cutter looked pretty dandy and importantly comes at 1/8th of the price of the Festool.

The idea behind it is basically that you buy the sword of a chainsaw and attach it to your old circular saw that you happen to have lying around. And yes, I happen to have an old Makita circular saw that is just gathering dust in a corner.

So the question is: Have any of you guys tried this beast? Maybe one of you even own one? What do you think? Is it a good piece of hardware? Is it safe? Do you still have all your fingers?

Or should I just sell my wife and spend the money on the festool swordsaw?
