What's the price range for Fiber Cement Siding?
Is fiber cement siding more expensive than vinyl?
Yes, fiber cement siding is generally more expensive than vinyl siding. However, it offers superior durability and longevity. While you'll pay more upfront, fiber cement siding resists harsh weather, insects, and rot, which can save you money on repairs in the long run. Consider the long-term benefits when comparing fiber cement to vinyl siding.
What's the top-selling product within Fiber Cement Siding?
I was just quoted $21sq/ft to install 2000sq/ft of Hardie lap siding in Northern CA. Does this seem high? I am still waiting for one more bid, but it's taking forever and I am wondering if I might find a cheaper option on a few of the walls if this is going to be the average rate. Heck, I got a bid for stucco that was only $10sq/ft for roughly the same area. I would rather go all mostly stucco if it's going to be half as much.
Hey Interior design peeps. Has anyone done Fibre Cement boards on their interior walls? I'm going to be using it on my exterior, but I'm seeing some interesting design ideas on the nichiha.com site and wondering if anyone has opinions.
I like the look of some exposed concrete. But in my experience exposed concrete is a huge source of dust unless you seal and polish it really well, and it also can have a lot of condensation if the temperature difference is too great between outside and inside. So I'm hoping Fibre Cement is an option. Probably lower cost too.
I'm worried that its really an outdoor product, and there will be weird wear and tear on the interior surfaces. You don't cook near outside surfaces, kids don't put there hands on outside walls like they do on every interior corner, etc. Also worried about flaking or dust coming off of it.
