November 10, 2024Superior RD4300 Refractory Panel blocked by angled panel
I'm trying to remove the panels from a Superior RD 4300 but they're apparently blocked at the top by this angled piece of metal. I've removed visible screws but it doesn't budge. Checked installation manuals that I could find online but nothing mentioned this.
Anyone know how to get this out of the way? I'm fixing to cut/bend it out of the way.

It worked for me untill i got a new stove. Clean the ash from the area good and really work the paste in. Some of the thinner spots flaked but the central mass held nicely.

Don't use gas fireplace refractory panels. They're a completely different material than the ones made for wood.
