So I just bought a new bed and I’m finally able to make my floofy dream cloud come true.
However, all the comforter/quilt/duvet inserts I’ve looked at look like sad, pathetic, gangly slices of depression and I would really love to be able to jump onto cotton candy and fucking sunshine!!
Does anyone know how I can achieve this? I don’t care about it being warm or what it’s made of I would just like it to be crazy fluffy and soft.

Follow anyone on insta who mainly posts about decor (then more will be suggested). Most of them link to Amazon and have a post about ‘how I achieve super fluffy bedding’. It’s usually a select set of Amazon inserts/quilt, and often stuffing 2 in one duvet cover.

I’ve been researching for MONTHS (embarrassing, I know) but I’m on the hunt for a luxurious, poofy, fluffy and lofty goose down comforter that’s not too hot. Tomorrow is Black Friday and with the sales coming, it’s going to be time for me to pull the trigger. So many comforters online say they’re luxurious and lofty but the customer photos show them as flat, pancake looking things. I’ve considered Pacific Coast Feathers, Macys Hotel Collection, Cuddledown and a few more. I was considering the Company Store but I read they were bought out and the quality isn’t as good as it used to be. I’d like to spend no more than $300-$350. Can anyone give any recommendations? my down comforter is so heavy the sales rep warned me not to buy one, said it almost always got returned because people didn’t realize how hot a super-heavy down comforter is. but it’s great for super cold winters, i sleep with the heat off and when i wake up my apartment is like high forties or low fifties and i’m still toasty warm. that said it’s absolutely unusable for about half the year, and very expensive even on sale. it’s the company store legends hotel royal down comforter, oversized queen size, ultra fill

A heavy down comforter is tough to find. Down is a very powerful insulator, so just a little bit of fill creates a lot of warmth. Down also traps a lot of air, so when it's lofted up, it fills the space in the duvet quite well, for relatively little weight. You could stuff a duvet with a ton of down, but this would be prohibitively expensive, very hot, and would also prevent the down from lofting to its full potential, limiting its performance. The hallmark of a high quality down duvet is lightweight performance! Of course, there are fuller, heavier down duvets that are suitable for cold sleeping temperatures, but these are heavier relative to thinner down duvets. They'll still be very light compared to other materials like feather.
