Mineral Wells has a public fossil park, where anybody can go look around. Lots of creeks in and around Fort Worth have fossils. Gryphaea and bi-valves are the most common kind in the creeks here. Really anywhere that the soil has eroded away you can find fossils. This part of Texas used to be under a sea, so many of the fossils here are of sea animals. There is also a group called Dallas Paleontological Society which organizes events. Members of that group share photos of finds on their Facebook page. Answer from DigitalArbitrage on reddit.com

It's not in Fort Worth, but is fairly close for what it is. Have either of you been to Dinosaur Valley State Park , located in Glen Rose? As a child, it was magical, and as an adult, it's a fantastic day trip location that makes for a pretty awesome date.
