ok thanks!
If you install something to use KeepVid (that you likely didn't have installed for other things already) - you're doing it wrong.
Visit the web page (http://keepvid.com) and in the large input bar - type in, for example, your YouTube URL of the video you want to keep:
... then click on "download" to the right of said text input bar. RIGHT SIDE OF THE BAR.
You may want to use Internet Explorer (issues have been reported since KeepVid merged with SnipMP3 with other browsers)...
Then you should be, if you have Java installed, etc, end up with a nice list of file formats to download the end-product in (nothing has happened on your machine but a javascript running.)
Just download one of the listed videos from the left (where it has the "Download MP4" and "Download WEBM" and whatever else - those links - nothing else.) LEFT LIST OF DOWNLOADABLE FILES.
Done.
I've downloaded it before and use it without trouble, but know my computer keeps saying it's unsafe. Is there a better youtube to mp3 downloader?
Just a PSA - I had to do a quick video conversion. I've used Freemake in the past and been happy with it. During installation it tried to install 3 different programs that I did not want. I unchecked all the boxes for all those programs. And still, after it installed, I got some Pluto.tv crap installed that I never asked for. Who knows what else may have gotten installed that I haven't noticed yet. Running Malwarebytes right now. Avoid Freemake at all costs!
