Looking to get a Keyboard to accompany my Mac Mini. Do you all have any preferences or recommendations?
Currently using a Dell Wireless Keyboard (provided by my office). It’s nothing fancy, gets the job done, but with BF around the corner, I wanna try to see if I can get something “better”.
Looking for something “Fancy” in a sense of maybe some RGB, more Ergonomic, interchangeable keycaps + durable?
I have seen Keychron K3/K10 & Logitech MX recommended online.
Personally, I don’t think I can tell the difference in latency in keyboards (don’t play FPS), the most reaction I need is probs in MOBA?
NOTE: not sure if this matters, I prefer a ANSI Layout
Thanks for any Input!! :)
I’m looking for a wireless keyboard that has backlit keys; I don’t know where all the buttons are in the keyboard because I’m kind of new to computers in general. I understand that some keyboards don’t have the Mac buttons on them, so I figured I’d shoot my question here and see if there’s recommendations. It doesn’t need to be extravagant, I just need to have all the keys that a Mac keyboard should have and be backlit. I should mention that I’m looking for a full-size keyboard. Appreciate any help you guys thank you.

Right now I have a cheaper Keychron keyboard, but would you guys recommend that I buy a keyboard like a Ducky or smth like that even tho they're not Mac compatible? I assume they still work they just don't have the software and they have the windows key.
The newer Keychron keyboards are QMK/VIA compatible which means you can edit the layout to whatever you want! and they’re better mechanical keyboards than most prebuilts out there
Yeah it'll work no problem, the windows key just does what Command would do on a Mac keyboard (and Alt is Option).
Hi, I just bought an Aula keyboard F2088 for gaming in my MacBook Air.
It looks great and everything, but the numpad doesn't work properly.
Can someone recommend me an appropriate keyboard for my MacBook? Every option is well received.
It’s pricy but the Logitech g915 tkl has been awesome. I’m kinda picky with keyboards and went through 4 or 5 keyboards to find the perfect one lol. Great for gaming and the typing experience is good too. I can’t live without the volume scroll wheel, and all the media buttons work. Charge it once a month. It’s 200 bucks so it’s an investment lol but I highly recommend it.
I’m using a Keychron K4. Has Mac keys as well as a numpad.
Hi. Can anyone recommend a reasonably affordable sub £100/$100 gaming keyboard for an M1 iMac? Thanks.
I’m looking at possibly moving away from Razer so I wondered if anyone has any experience with gaming keyboards from other brands used on Macs?
Thanks in advance!
Logitech's gaming software is available for Mac, so all of their gaming hardware that uses it, keyboards, mice, controllers, etc. (even if it says Windows only) will work on Mac, will full configuration options and everything.
The Azio MK Mac keyboard is great! Simple, white back light. Lovely mechanical keys and a good-old Command key where it should be. I wish I didn't spill wine on mine :(
Hi there. Can you advice what are the best brands of gaming mice and keybords for Mac?
I've been doing a bit more gaming lately and I was wondering if someone had a recommendation for a keyboard. I've always used the stock Apple keyboard, and I was thinking of investing in a better keyboard. I've never used a mechanical one, so I'd be going of recommendations if I bought one, and I wouldn't mind some sleek LEDs and the thing that the standard iMac keyboard lacks, a Num pad.
EDIT: To clarify, I'm not too worried about compatibility, as I often use a Windows partition anyway. I'm mainly just trying to get some input from anyone who has used gaming keyboard on mac and would recommend it.
Are there gaming keyboards that are compatible? I've been looking around for both blue-tooth and wired options, but wasn't sure if the ones I looked at would work. Alternatively, I was thinking of getting something like this and replacing the cable with one that has type-c charging on both ends so it can plug into the laptop- would that work? Most of the cables that came with the keyboards were type-c with micro-usb on the other end, which is an issue with this laptop.
That's not the exact one I'm getting, just giving an example of what I'm sort of looking for.
Keychron K2 and Logitech MX Mechanical Mini for Mac seem to be the most popular options for Mac users since they're wireless to get around lack of ports. They're the most Mac-friendly options and even have the same layout.

Does anyone have recommendations for good gaming mechanical/hybrid keyboards that actually have a true Mac key layout?
I'm a big fan of the thin-profile, clickey keyboards such as the Razer Ornata Chroma, or Logitech G815/915. And I know that technically those will work on my Mac just fine, but they have Windows layouts and it's not possible (that I'm aware of) to purchase replacement keycaps for them.
Does anyone have any good suggestions or recommendations?
With gaming becoming more and more feasible on osx what do you guys recommend?
There's a really nice Das mechanical keyboard (Model S Professional for Mac) that you can find here: http://www.daskeyboard.com/model-s-professional-for-mac/
Mechanical keyboards are pretty pricy, but they're worth every penny IMO.
tl;dr: With a little bit of tweaking, all keyboards are pretty much plug & play. Pick one that feels right to you.
I use the previous version of this: http://gaming.coolermaster.com/en/products/keyboards/rapid-i/
It came with a tool I could use to physically swap the alt/option key and the CM key. The CM key is an alternate cap to the Windows cap. After physically swapping the keys, I used OS X's built in key mapping to remap the keys to match the Apple keyboard. System Preferences > Keyboard > Modifier Keys...
Bonus points: I also make the Caps Lock key act like a Command key (or Control on a Windows box). Having a Command/Control key in the Home Row to so much more useful than a Caps Lock key in the Home Row.
I type for a living.

Need a nice keyboard with English and Korean and was considering a Magic Keyboard. I don't game too much but if I need to use it does anyone know if it handles it well enough? Bluetooth good enough? Is it fine to use and lagless when plugged in?
I prefer to game on Apple keyboards as I love the low-profile (as opposed to almost every other gamer) - Battery life is excellent.
I'm using a Magic Keyboard and works great. I wouldn't game with a Apple mouse however :)
It has one of the lowest input lag of any keyboard, but the low profile can be problematic in some cases if you are not used to it
This is mainly for those who do use them for their work since you’re more likely to want something either more comfortable or feature rich than a casual user. At work i have a mac studio and they gave me a generic windows logitech keyboard and magic mouse which i couldn’t stand so i brought in one of those old Apple Pro Keyboards and i forgot how much i like this keyboard. It’s just really comfortable to me and a lot harder to accidentally press a key compared to the magic keyboard my imac at home has. One thing im surprised apple doesn’t have is a backlit keyboard since i like to work in the dark in my office, but since there’s usb ports on the back of the keyboard i put one of these little lights on it lol.
I’m curious what non apple ones you all are using. I’d imagine touchID is what keeps a lot of people on the magic keyboard because that’s why i can’t justify replacing my keyboard at home (that, and i still want it color matched)
so my magic keyboard died a few days ago and i've been using my mac with a cheap keyboard and i want a permanent replacement but i dont want to spend to much money on it. what good options would you recommend?
I was looking around today for a mechanical keyboard that has the Mac keyboard layout and have come up empty handed. I've found a few keyboards that are compatible with MacOS, but none that have an identical layout where the CMND key is aligned with the "X" key on the right side.
When CMND and X aren't aligned keyboard shortcuts feel "clunky" and hard to execute, does anyone know of a mechanical keyboard with CMND aligned with the "X" key? ( It could also be a standard Windows keyboard with ALT aligned with "X" -- I can always remap it, it just has to feel right when using it)
Thanks!
I am looking for a keyboard that works almost natively with both Mac and Windows and that has the buttons and layout that an Apple keyboard offers (command, control, volume and music controls notably). I also don't like if the keyboard makes too much noise/clicking sounds but I don't expect the same level of quietness as Apple.
I saw that Keychron seems to offer this type of product but I am also open to others. Any suggestions?
Hi there,
I got my Mac hooked up to a 27' monitor, along with Mac external keyboard and a gaming mouse.
I am itching to get myself new decent keyboard, but with Mac layout.
Has anyone ever seen of such?
Thanks in advance.
Probably easier to find one with keycaps that can be swapped than find one specifically for mac.
Das Keyboard Professional 4 (Mac)
https://www.daskeyboard.com/daskeyboard-4-professional-for-mac/
It comes in Cherry MX Blues or Browns. Includes a fantastic tactile volume wheel and a USB 3.0 hub.
Best solution I have found. UniAccessories makes a fine Type C to Type A adapter in space gray with a braided cable for $5
I'm pretty new to mechanical keyboards, but I am looking for the best mechanical keyboard for mac, with RGB backlighting and tactile switches. If it had the mac layout that would be really great and perfect.
Do you have any suggestions?
Hello all! I currently have a Logitech Wave Keys keyboard for my Mac, but I need a full size gaming keyboard for my new desktop gaming PC. I use a fingerprint reader plugged into my current Logitech keyboard, and I love this feature, so I would need a keyboard that has a USB port to plug in the device. Any recommendations? I'd like to keep it under $100 if possible, but I might go as much as $150.
