GCC discusses moving to Git
A lot of people here are talking about GitHub and how moving GCC to GitHub is a bad idea. However, as far as I can see, they don't really mention GH; they're simply talking about moving to git. What makes people think they'll go anywhere near GitHub? More on reddit.com
avr gcc - How do I access the "most official" repository for architecture specific GCC runtime source files&tests? - Stack Overflow
What do "they" use for regression testing architecture specific routines what? see github.com/gcc-mirror/gcc/tree/master/gcc/testsuite readme and gnu.org/software/dejagnu . I could easily use myself? no. Use cmake and ctest. | Please keep one question per question. More on stackoverflow.com
In GitHub Actions, is there a way to post compiler warnings as PR review comments?
I've built out some infrastructure for this in the past. It goes something like this in some custom automation software: - Checkout the Git repo at a base branch. - Run the Rosyln analyzers and gather the diagnostics output to a json file including line number, line column, etc. - Checkout the Git repo at the target branch. - Run the same Rosyln analyzers again and gather the output to a different json file. - Compare results looking for diagnostics that changed between the base and target branches; diagnostics that were new is what I was interested in. From here for your case it's just a matter of using the GitHub API for posting PR comments for each new diagnostic. More on reddit.com

r/linux on Reddit: GCC discusses moving to Git
August 21, 2015 - Edit: everyone is talking about why github is bad but I don't think the email mentions them. What's the disadvantage of using Git itself? ... Git is a more powerful tool, so switching would benefit most teams in the long run. Most people who are opposed to it do so with a if it ain't broke attitude. I would imagine those who work on a project as monolithic as GCC would rather just focus on code than bother learning a more nimble version control system.
