The Goodwill Boutique in West Portal is great. It offers new or like-new items with a curated selection of designer labels. I'm also a fan of the one in the TL, really. It's clean and well-laid out, and if you're lucky, it'll have some great vintage donations. I've seen vintage Burberry and 1920s-style gowns there. Answer from thebluecastle on reddit.com

The Goodwill Boutique in West Portal is great. It offers new or like-new items with a curated selection of designer labels. I'm also a fan of the one in the TL, really. May 11, 2019San Francisco Goodwill Bins Question
I moved away from the area ~6 months ago so my knowledge is dated and it may be different now, but what the other commenter said was true last time I went. You line up outside, they let in 1 person/couple per bin. Employee shouts “switch” on a timed rotation and everyone shifts to the next bin. When you’ve been through the rotation everyone checks out and they bring a new group in. You can always get back in line and go back in again. Pros: you get an entire bin to yourself. Cons: you have to move quickly, time goes by fast. Also, if the line is long you wait outside for an entire rotation (maybe 45 mins?). I found street parking right out front. Not sure if you’re familiar with the area, but it’s in SSF, not the city. It’s near SFO airport. The area is a mix of industrial and airport hotels. There’s a McDonald’s around the corner if you need a bathroom or food stop before hitting the ground running. Good luck! More on reddit.com

October 19, 2021The old Goodwill location at 822 Geary St. - formerly slated to be a dedicated drug injection site - will be a 16 bed 'stabilization center' for people with 'urgent mental health needs' dropped off by cops, paramedics, or 'street teams,' to be managed by a 20 person team from DPH.
I take the 38 every day so made a point of checking the address out as I went by. It's a one-story building. They should tear it down and build something larger. More on reddit.com

I want to start buying more of my clothes secondhand and I’m curious if anyone has a recommendation for the best goodwill in town (SF only please)? I’m familiar with the Fillmore (not great) and Haight (ok) locations. Any other favorites, particularly for women’s clothing?

There are other thrift stores: Out Of The Closet on Polk and Folsom, Salvation Army with multiple locations. Is there any particular reason you like Goodwills, or are you just using that as a generic term for thrift stores?
