Think like a technologist that knows how things actually work under the hood. The OSCP approach of running this script and running that tool with high level understanding isn't enough Make sure you can read code and write good code (doesn't matter the language) Have at least basic understanding of system design Are you comfortable with the idea that one day you can be a defender and next day an attacker and can pick things up quickly? Good. If not, not good 😅 Don't assume you need to know everything. But you need to be able to quickly research and find whatever answer you need to solve a problem Don't have a boring CV. Make it short, and if you got something that highlights your passion for the work, highlight that. For example, bug bounty findings, CVEs, open source tools you built (or contributed to) If you know a Googler, and they've seen your work, ask them to refer you Depending on the role, review material that is relevant Ask the recruiter for prep guidance for the role, if you get contacted. December 22, 2017has anyone completed the google cybersecurity certificate?
I completed a Meta certificate on Coursera a couple months ago and they had the same thing, a job board available for students who completed the cert. I found that their job board had many jobs that weren’t available on other job websites that I searched through so I’m sure that the Google job board will be similar. More on reddit.com

You need to be really really good at networking for this to happen. Or have some great referrals. The google cybersecurity course is great don’t get me wrong, but if I was a hiring manager, I would look at that “cert” on a resume as the equivalent of any other Coursera cert of completion. There is no actual proctored test, the training material is very short and high level, the labs leave a lot to be desired. It’s a good first intro into this world, but by no means does it give a person all of the required skills to be successful in this field. I don’t even think it covers any log analytics either. There’s just a lot missing from it in my opinion.
