Google Domains DNS Glue Records
The reason why you see no answer section from Google's DNS is because it returns a SERVFAIL message. I can think of 2 probable causes: In the first command you set the cd bit which disables DNSSEC validation and skip it in further commands. Is your domain DNSSEC secured? A misconfiguration might cause an error. The first error you mention leads me to believe that there might be some connectivity/firewall issues between parts of the internet and your nameservers. Also, could you run the following commands? They might help with debugging. dig xxmydomainxx.com @8.8.8.8 +trace dig DS xxmydomainxx.com @8.8.8.8 More on reddit.com

Google Domains Dynamic DNS with CloudFlare?

Cloudflare = cloudflare nameservers

Dynamic DNS is sketchy at best. Maybe try to use the free hostname (some) freedns provider give and set it as a cname record with a low ttl

DNS basics - Google Workspace Admin Help
This system is essentially the phone book of the Web that organizes and identifies domains. While a phone book translates a name like "Acme Pizza" into the correct phone number to call, the DNS translates a web address like "www.google.com" into the physical IP address—such as"74.125.19.147"—of the computer hosting that site (in this case, the Google homepage). When using Google Cloud services, you periodically need to modify your DNS settings to set up various tools and services.
