Google ad settings not doing what its supposed to
Google deliberately shows the same ads repeatedly to wear you down. It's a strategy to get you to pay for a premium subscription. I held out for years, averting my eyes from the screen and wasting hours of time putting up with uninterruptible ads. Occasionally I was offered a 1 month trial of premium. Relief! Then put up with the torture again because there is still some pretty amazing content on YT, and channels I've been subscribed to for over a decade. Eventually they gave me a 6 month free trial of premium. When the trial expired I simply couldn't bear the torture of the ads after 6 months of relief, so I caved in and started paying. Turn off ad personalization is worse than having it on in context of ad quality. You will get more annoyed when you look at that random ads of things which u never want to hear or never want to see popping on frequently. Add to that you will also not be able to report the ads they want you used to since they aren't personalized. Note: Rather than going through some browser. Android phones already have google manage account built-in. Go to your settings> google> manage your account> data and privacy> Or any Google app profile> manage your account More on reddit.com

We use your activity on Google – like sites you visit, apps you use, things you’ve searched for and associated information like location – to deliver better, more helpful experiences across our products, including ads.
We never use sensitive information such as health, race, religion or sexual orientation to tailor the ads you see. And we don’t use data from Drive, Gmail and Photos for ads, either.
You can control what information is used to personalise ads and manage your ads preferences with My Ad Centre.

I mostly see this problem on youtube more than anywhere else, but I am so sick and tired of getting the same 4 ads for this dumb mobile game that is very clearly made by AI. I've tried going into the settings and blocking the ad, making changes to my ad center so i shouldn't see ads for games anymore, and still I keep getting it almost every time an ad plays.
is there something im missing maybe? like is there a secret setting Im not aware of to make it stop or is this just how it is now?
