Like most things, its a matter of personal preference and how you plan on using them. I installed the Pros last year and have the played a bit with the Govee 2s. Overall the Govee 2 are a decent step up from the original Govee non-pro lights, brighter and the dedicated white channels help both for the white light and power efficiency. That said I would say the Pro produce a nicer white, to my eyes at least. On the other hand, if you plan to use the lights mainly for colored illumination, the white may not matter much to you. The Govee 2s have more lights per foot than the pros, and some people prefer having more light cones. The Pros are a little brighter per light, 50LM vs 40LM at max brightness. The Pros also come with Splicing hardware which makes cutting them to size easier. If I was going to do a new install today, I would still go Pro because I rely on them to light my walkway at night, so use the white light daily. So for my use they are better. Is there a difference between the Outdoor Elite and Outdoor 2? Are they compatible (can you add elite strings to a 2 controller or vice versa)?

I haven’t been able to get the 100’ Elite kits to recognize any more than 6 strings even though it does say it will support 150’ in the instructions. Bought two 100’ kits from Sam’s Club. Tried resetting the controller to see if it would make a difference. Thought about trying to inject power and use a data booster, but my experimentation around cutting and splicing hasn’t given me much hope that it will work. At the very least I don’t have an issue getting power to start my second 100’ strand.

I just installed the first series and they are bright!! I can’t imagine series 2 or the pros being even brighter - my one neighbour will be so annoyed already!

I've searched a lot and am not really finding any comparison or ability to see the similarities or differences between the two of these. On Amazon at the time of posting this, the Outdoor light 2 is $299 USD for 100 feet. The Pro is $309 USD for 100 feet. The original version is $279 USD for 100 feet. Any comparison or key differences that make a $10 price difference matter?

2’s (also called Elite via Costco): same housing and spacing as originals but they added two 4000K LEDs integrated with the RGD LED. True soft and cool white not as good as it uses RGB mixed with the 4000K to create the whites. Pros: wider spacing between lights, 3 warm white LEDs and 3 cool white LEDs integrated in each module for much truer white options. Also comes with splicing jumpers designed to let you cut the wire where needed. At that pricing, I would definitely got for pro, especially if you plan to use white lights regularly. Going to be doing a self-install...how much different are the pro vs the elite on ease of install? It seems pro's advantage is being able to cut them...will I be unhappy with the elite? The pros are SO much more expensive than the Costco Elites. I can get 300 ft of elite for $650, whereas Amazon is selling the pros for over $600 for 200 feet.

We install all versions. Elites are like the Gen 2 with the warm and cool white features and the connections are swapped from other versions. Elites, Gen 2 and pros can be controlled with Matter. The pros have 3 LEDs specifically for warm and 3 specifically for cool. Purest kelvin temperatures. Elites and Gen 2 are 40 lumens and pros are 50. Elites and Gen2 as well as the non pro lights do not provide splicing connectors. Pros do. Pros are the only ones that are warranted by Govee if spliced. If you’re looking for an upgrade from the non pros, go with elites or Gen 2. If you don’t have any lights, pros are the way to go

Just bought these from Costco in Canada. I thought they were the pros because they come in a black version ( I have black soffits) but they seem to be different. Does anyone have experience with this version and know how they compare to the other two? I think they still have 2 white LEDs (4000k) and then one rgbic in the middle. They were $400CAD. I had been waiting for the Pros to go on sale in a few days on Amazon but don't know what version to get anymore.

I didn’t get the 1’s last year because what I read recommended ordering 3D printed brackets in addition to the adhesive on the lights. I bought the 2’s this year because Govee now includes the brackets.
