Should I add peel and stick tiles to my drab grey renter kitchen?
You can, but I think the main reason why you might think the kitchen looks drab could be the color of the countertop and the cabinet colors. They're both cool toned grays, which is probably why the kitchen looks a bit dull. I would suggest considering changing the countertop color (using either paint specific for painting on top of kitchen countertops or waterproof peel-and-stick wallpaper), or changing the color of the cabinets (also with either paint or wallpaper)
But I do like how the white tiles separate the kitchen into top half and bottom half. The original color blended in too much with the cabinets that it looks like one big blob of gray.
