I was at Ace Hardware trying to get attachments for my drill so I could do some minimal 'rotary tool stuff' (my dremel died), anyways it seemed the only way to get attachments on was by getting this 'arbor adaptor', they had two models and both were 1/2" (not the shank, the threaded shaft that holds things like grind discs or wire-wheel discs), yet they didn't have a single grinding disc with a 1/2" hole....5/8" was the closest and they had a ton of those, the salesman convinced me that was normal and those were for the arbor - I'm now home setting-up and it just feels very wrong putting a 5/8" center-hole grind disc on a 1/2" rod, I mean I'm trying to center it but no matter how much I try to it's going to be off-center!
Is it common practice to use 5/8" holed discs on 1/2" arbors? Why weren't 1/2" holed grind discs available? Am so confused right now, feel like I had to have gotten the wrong disc and/or arbor but both were the 'best' options there (and what the guy said was right) Hoping for 2nd opinions before I actually use this thing!
