Hansgrohe shower cartridge identification
Fuck Hansgrohe. That is all.
Question about bath and shower fixtures (is it worth buying premium brands like Hansgrohe?)
I'm a professional plumber, and would like to think I have some insight in my last 25 plus years. However there are always people who will disagree, so you can either take what I have to say to heart, or leave it.
To a point spending money does get you a better quality fixture. Number one don't buy from big box stores, stuff is made cheaper, and is not the same as a supplier model. That's why it's cheaper...
Now that being said, there is a point where you are just spending money to spend it, and there is no return of value. I would also caution you to remember that most sales people (even at a supply house if they actually work sales and not counter help) usually make a commission. It's in their best interest to upsell you. There are so many brands and variables that it is damn near impossible for me to point you in the right direction with the information I have. One example is that I would go with any ghroe shower valve over any hansghroe valve. Based on quality, and cost and serviceability of the valves. For the most part I would actually recommend a delta multichoice rough valve and 3-6 function diverter over the ghroe for the same reason. But this all depends on a ton of things, like trim style and finish you are going for, and actual functions of the shower, just to give you a couple examples.

Which faucet is suitable for which shower?
You can conveniently control a single shower head with one single-hole shower faucet in either a concealed or an exposed installation design, depending on your design preferences. The lever handle is convenient for all users to operate. When renovating, exposed installation faucets can be simply fitted on existing connections. A shower thermostat offers added comfort, as it reliably protects you against fluctuations in the water pipe.
You can intuitively control a consumer (= a shower head) using an exposed installation thermostat. For two consumers, you could use a hansgrohe shower pipe (= an exposed installation shower system) that connects the two shower heads to a thermostat and is placed on existing connections. For two or more consumers, a concealed installation shower thermostat is a beautiful and beneficial solution.
What is the correct way to clean the shower faucet?
Gently clean the shower faucet using a soft cotton cloth. It’s best to remove limescale residue using a household cleaner containing citric acid. Do not use stainless steel scouring pads or microfiber cloths, as they can leave marks on the high-quality surface. Refer to our guide for more hansgrohe cleaning and care tips.
Are the connections for the shower faucets standardized?
Yes. Exposed installation shower faucets are fitted on standard connections in the bathroom wall. In other words, they are simply attached on top of the plaster. Concealed installation shower faucets are installed behind the wall and require the matching basic set for the installation to be concealed. To do this, hansgrohe supplies the iBox universal, which can be used with most hansgrohe and AXOR pre-fab sets (control unit on the wall).
Wondering if anyone can help identify what shower cartridge I need for a Hansgrohe shower valve. I don't know the model number, but I was able to identify the numbers written when you take off the handle as follows:
Above cartridge number: 19742518
Below cartridge numbers: 19742618 19742718
