Hashimoto's disease-Hashimoto's disease - Diagnosis & treatment - Mayo Clinic
April 30, 2025 - The main thyroid hormone is thyroxine (T-4). A low blood level of T-4 confirms the findings of a TSH test and indicates the problem is within the thyroid itself. More than one disease process can lead to hypothyroidism.

Hashimoto’s antibodies through the roof, but low TSH??
Sometimes when you have hashimotos, you can swing between hyper and hypothyroidism. The damage to the gland from the antibodies releases excess hormones into your body, causing transient hyperthyroidism. Over time this won't happen since the thyroid is too damaged, so you'll just be hypothyroid all the time. I hope your doctor can help you understand what's going on! More on reddit.com

Symptoms but normal TSH, T3, and T4
Ask for the thyroid antibodies tests. I did this with my kid who has a normal thyroid functioning panel. She was very positive and had an ultrasound confirm. She also has celiac disease, Raynaud’s and Erythromelalgia (burning man syndrome). Treatment for now? Monitoring. No need for thyroid hormone replacement yet. More on reddit.com

Over time, your body will develop an autoimmune thyroid disease, so stay on top of your health. This is a loaded question. We can treat for high TSH or a high antibody count. To fully answer the question I would need to know if we are seeing high TSH or high TPO antibodies. Yes and no. Hashimoto's thyroiditis is hypothyroidism, but hypothyroidism is not always hashimoto's thyroiditis.
