November 13, 2025 - Just off Charterhouse Square, near The Barbican tube, Farringdon Tube and can also walk from Moorgate, although longer, through the arches is a place called Charterhouse. Guided tours are worth doing.

March 20, 2025 - The last hidden gem in London that I wanted to include in this post is one of London’s smallest sculptures. Located on Philpot Lane, these two mice carrying a piece of cheese are tiny. You won’t spot them if you’re just passing by. The sculpture has its own pin on Google Maps though, which can help you find them.

These days the island is home to working artists (and a lot of boats). HOW TO GET THERE: Take the train from Waterloo to Twickenham (Zone 5), then it's a short walk. ... The vast wetlands of Barnes are an ornithologist's wonderland: these flooded plains of west London play host to a variety of birds and other wildlife for those times when you tire of urban foxes, tube mice and pesky pigeons.

November 17, 2025 - It’s located on a small side street, a short walk from London Bridge. I recommend getting the Steak & Chips from @TheBeefsteaks. It’s amazing! Nearby is also the more well-known Borough Market, which I also love (a foodie paradise). 💡Local tip: Purchase this Borough Market food tour (via Headout), which will allow you to sample all the best foods and be guided by a local. I went on this tour and learned about so many new hidden gems (even as a local myself!).

Definitely one I’d recommend if you have not been yet as it made my list of favourite London brunch spots. ... August 10, 2020 - Brick Lane. Of all the famous streets in London, Brick Lane is the coolest of the cool, in my humble opinion. Partly because it’s the old stomping grounds of Jack the Ripper, and it has businesses like the Cereal Killer Cafe and Jack the Clipper.

At this time we have Bletchley Park, Down House, Kew Gardens, and the RAF Duxford Museum in mind. Our interests are; Scenery, History, Art, Science, Architecture. Are we missing any real gems within a day-trip from the city?.
