In the spirit of this sub, Reddit, I would love for you to have a good experience with this project, especially considering that it’s for your own patio. i’m concerned however that the the connection between the left and right side of the table top will not be strong enough. Also, if the benches on the left and right are not connected to the floor in someway, and one side of the bench is slid away from the table, even slightly you’ll have a chance of breaking that small piece of wood between the two sandwiching portions on the table top. Another concern that stood out to me was the hinges. Those are door hinges designed to be vertically holding up a door in a very specific way. To use them horizontally puts a lot of strain on the six screw in each hinge. Rather than a sheer force against the shaft of the screw, you’ll have a pulling force against the head of the screw, which will possibly fail. I think you’ve got a great project ahead of you if you will just spend a little more time looking for new plans. You may be a bit too far south, but I'd see if you can get some northern white cedar (Thuja occidentalis) aka arbor vitae. It's relatively affordable and rot resistant. You don't need any finish, just let it age into a weathered silver look. You will need to seek it out in a dedicated hardwood shop. I have found that there are often small lumber shops that sell mostly cedar so that might be an option. More on reddit.com
