I'm giving Amazon Music a full-on try due to the closure of Google Play Music.
I have an Amazon Prime subscription so that should be enough to try everything out but my problem is all the purchased stuff from GPM. I've discovered I can no longer upload stuff so I've downloaded it all to the Music folder on my phone but I can't get Amazon Music to see it.

So I tend to listen to albums. Recently thats only an option sometimes. Other times it will instead try to play a playlist instead of the song I've picked. But not all the time. Can anyone explain how it makes this decision. On a side note I think I'm done with this app. Absalutly insane that I pay a stupid monthly bill and can't always listen to the songs I want to.

Which subscription do you have e.g. just Prime, Prime and Unlimited, which unlimited plan etc? By default, the recent change to Amazon Music Prime means that it will shuffle a selection of tracks based your request rather than specific items. You need to subscribe to Unlimited to be able to request specific tracks or albums. Do you experience this behavior on all your echos, or does it differ from device to device? I've been a Prime member for 10+ years, but never used the music service. Last week I downloaded the app on my phoe and started listening. I have used Pandora, but I thought I'd try this and I thought it was included in Prime. The next day I got an email stating: "Your subscription costs $0.00 for the first 3 months and then $9.99 per month after,"
I thought it was included? Is there a "lite" version I am thinking of, or one with commercials or something?

Amazon Music prime subscription is free for prime members. It’s the same concept as Pandora, you can shuffle playlist and stations, but you can’t play songs on demand as far as I know. You must have inadvertently subscribed to the Amazon Music unlimited plan, which is paid for everyone. Prime members have a discount though.

Prime using to include about 2m songs ad free but it's not been like that doe a couple of years. If you're a prime member you get a discount on an Amazon Music Unlimited subscription.
