I need something to automatically back up my text messages to gmail. I have used SMS Backup+ for years, and it's worked fine. Every 30 minutes it backs any new texts up to gmail, leaving me free to delete old messages on my phone, but still have access to them later for reference.
Sadly, SMS Backup Plus hasn't been updated in four years, and has apparently died - the automated backup function no longer works.
I need a replacement. I need something that backs things up to somewhere safe and searchable. I've tried searching, but every article I find recommends SMS Backup+, the same app that I have that doesn't work anymore.
I do not need: a backup and restore app for transferring phones, a company that backs up to their own servers that may or may not exist in a few years, or a premium service/subscription based option.
