Google found that security questions were not really secure at all as most of the answers can be found with a simple Google search. For example Sarah Palin had her Yahoo! account hacked because someone simply Googled her birthday, ZIP code and where she met her spouse.
Google has completely removed support for security questions and one only had the ability to remove already existing ones. There is no way to add your security question back in.
Perhaps you should consider enabling 2 - step verification, enabling this feature will make Google send a single-use code to your phone which you will have to enter as a second password. In this way even if someone manages to acquire your password, they will also need your phone to access your Google account.

Has anyone answered a Google Security Question successfully in recent times?
I know Google stopped supporting Security Questions around 2014/2015. We can no longer add or edit such questions, only delete it.
But it's unclear whether Security Questions which remain on an account are also completely disabled/useless?
I have an old Gmail account (with important files), but was suddenly blocked from access after my old laptop failed. My login attempts are now flagged as 'suspicious'.
Despite having the correct password, Googles keeps prompting me for an answer to my Security Question, which I never needed to answer in over 10 years!
So I'm unsure if I'm getting my answer wrong and should keep trying, or if the Security Question feature has actually been completely disabled in the back-end, but somebody just forgot to update the front-end prompts too...
Exact same issue when using Account Recovery. (My own fault for not setting up a recovery email/number, but it was never clear that I could be locked-out even though I have the correct password!)
From my research, it seems at least one other person has reported that their 'correct' answer keeps getting rejected...

So, there's this alternate Gmail account that I have, I used to use it back in the day, but I've switched to another one. Still, this account is connected to all sorts of gaming services and I'd hate to lose access to it, but it appears that's what's happening.
I don't even understand why it's asking me a security question. I've never set one and I'm fairly certain I set a secondary email. I've also always signed in from this computer, so that suggested solution is already impossible
