You’ll get a massive delay between the soundbar and anything connected to the amp if you try and group them using the Bose Music app for TV audio. Only really gonna be useful for music playback Answer from samuelglyn on reddit.com

r/bose on Reddit: Soundbar + amplifier for for TV surround sound?
December 10, 2023 -

Apologies if this has been covered before, but I couldn't find an answer on this sub or anywhere else for that matter.

I have an existing soundbar 600 wired with my TV. I also have two passive speakers in the ceiling (came with the new house) that I plan to connect to a Bose amplifier. My question is whether or not I can use the amplifier+speakers to wirelessly sync with the soundbar to play audio from the TV?

I realize that the soundbar and amp speakers can be grouped to play music together but it's unclear whether they work together to play TV audio.

Thanks for your help!

r/bose on Reddit: does the Bose Surround Speakers work with Soundbar 600
May 12, 2023 -

Do the Bose Surround Speakers not work with Soundbar 600? So far, I have not been able to get them to work. I am using the Bose Music App. The Soundbar 600 shows up fine; I can control it from there. However, there are a few issues I see. I can not use the HDMI ARC port as I am using that with my DIRECTV connection, so I can only connect through the optical port.

When I go into the Bose Music App, select the Soundbar and Bluetooth and add an item. I can hear and see it is looking for other Bluetooth devices. However, it cannot find the Bose Surround Speakers.

I have checked that I have connected the Red and Black wires correctly. I unplugged each speaker, waited for the appropriate time, and plugged them back in. Still, the Soundbar has not found the Bose Surround Speakers. Could you let me know if there's a software update or if there's something I need to do in addition to getting the speakers to work?

r/bose on Reddit: No sound from back speakers when using smart soundbar 600 with surround speakers 700
April 2, 2023 -

What the title says.

I have a Bose smart soundbar 600 and a pair of Bose surround speakers 700. I have connected the surround speakers to the soundbar using the Bose Music app, the communication box connected to each surround speaker went from having a flashing orange light to a solid white light.

The soundbar is connected to a TV (LG OLED77C) over HDMI eARC. The TV is set to run HDMI passthrough.

The TV is connected to a PC. The PC is running Windows 10 with Dolby Atmos enabled (spatial sound).

I have updated the soundbar and the TV to the latest firmware.

I am not able to get any sound whatsoever from the surround speakers, I have tried everywhere. No sound when I'm running native apps on the TV, e.g. YouTube with some random surround test video. No sound when I'm running Plex with some 5.1 compatible movie. No sound when I'm playing music directly from the Bose Music app. Nothing.

Any suggestions?

Edit:

Thanks for the help guys. I was on the verge of giving up, but I did one last checkup just to realize that both of the back speakers were set to L (physical switch -> left), even though they showed up as L/R in the Bose Music app. Apparently that made them not produce any sound. Problem solved.

July 8, 2023 - Your answer is correct for your generation of Bose products but the answer is a different Yes for OP’s product generation. OP: The SoundTouch 300 soundbar works with other SoundTouch speakers, so what you want is a SoundTouch 10 or 20 or 30 speaker to put in your other room. Those are old now so you should be able to find them cheap somewhere from someone reselling them. You can sync a bunch of SoundTouch speakers together with the SoundTouch app. They all connect to each other over your Wi-Fi.
