For the datatype Double to int, you can use the following:
Double double = 5.00;
int integer = double.intValue();
This truncates (floors), and does not round. Use at your own risk.

Additionally: sc.nextInt(); will only pull an integer. So if you want the user input to include floating point numbers I would suggest sc.nextDouble(); then you can declare all your variables at the top as doubles and not have to worry about type casting until you print the output. It has to do with the order of operations. In the first the double cast is on the 5, so you have 5.0 / 4, and any division where one operand is a float you have floating point division. So you're left with 1.25. In the second you first do 5 / 4, an integer division, which results in 1. This 1 is then cast to a double leaving you with 1.0. Make sense? More on reddit.com
