To download Windows 10, you can follow these steps:

  1. Go to the Microsoft Software Download site.
  2. On the site, you will have options to either upgrade your current device or create installation media.
  3. If you choose to create installation media, select the option to download the tool and follow the prompts to create a bootable USB or download an ISO file.

As for the cost, Windows 10 was offered as a free upgrade for users of Windows 7, 8, and 8.1 for a period of time after its release. However, this offer officially ended, and while it may still be possible to upgrade without a license, it is recommended to purchase a valid license to ensure compliance and receive updates.

Hi Martin,

Microsoft originally offered a free upgrade from Windows 7 and 8 to Windows 10, but that official offer ended. For a while, there was an unofficial path that still worked, but Microsoft has now closed that loophole. If your PC was previously activated with Windows 10, it will still activate automatically. Otherwise, you’ll need a valid license key.

Where to Download Windows 10

You can download Windows 10 safely from Microsoft’s official site:

Official link: Download Windows 10

Use the Media Creation Tool:

Click Download tool now.

Run the tool and select Create installation media USB flash drivefor another PC.

Choose your language, edition, and architecture.

Select ISO file or USB drive to create bootable media.

Happy to help!

Hi reshawn

Windows 10 is not free if you are running Windows 8 or earlier or your computer doesn't have a license installed at all.

If all you need to the installation files for Windows 10, here is how you get them:

What you should do, is first download the ISO file using Media Creation Tool, then use another tool such as Rufus to make a bootable copy. Here is how you do that:

Download the Media Creation Tool Now

http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=691209

Right click the MediaCreationTool.exe file then click Run as administrator.

Accept the End User License Agreement:

Select the option Create installation media for another PC if you want to download a ISO image or create a bootable DVD or USB thumb drive,

Click Next

If you want to download a particular edition or both architectures, uncheck the Use the recommended option for this PC.

Image

Click in the Edition list box, choose your edition then click Next.

Windows 10 - contains Windows 10 Home and Windows 10 Pro.

Windows 10 Home Single Language - only select this edition if you are running Windows 10 Single Language, Windows 8 Single Language or Windows 8.1 with Bing.

Windows 10 N - only select this edition if you reside in Europe, it does not contain Windows Media Player. It contains Windows 10 Home N, Windows 10 Pro N.

Downloading the ISO file

An ISO file is a digital or virtual replica of a physical disc. In order to use an ISO you must burn it to a optical disc. In the case of Windows 10, a blank Dual Layer DVD or an empty USB thumb drive. If you are using Windows 7, you can create the .ISO then burn it using the built in Disc Image utility. If you are running Windows XP or Windows Vista, you can using a third party burning tool such as ImgBurn or Roxio/Nero.

Exception: you can double click the ISO (or right click it, choose Open with > Fiel Explorer), mount it and start the upgrade in Windows 10.

Creating a .ISO file

For the purposes of this exercise, we are gonna use the .ISO option.

Select ISO file, then click Save, Select your location then click Save.

Wait while the .ISO image is created.

MAKING A BOOTABLE COPY USING RUFUS:

You can download Rufus, for free.

http://rufus.akeo.ie/

After downloading Rufus, connect your thumb drive, launch Rufus application, click in the Device list box then choose your thumb drive.

Click in the list box then choose your partition scheme. If you select the ISO, Rufus will automatically select the appropriate options for you. Next, click in the File system list box, then choose FAT32. If your thumb drive is larger than 32 GBs, choose exFAT.

Leave the default Cluster size then enter a label for your thumb drive.

Click the choose disk image icon, browse to where the ISO file is located, select it then click Open.

Click Start to copy the files to the thumb drive.

If you have any files on the thumb drive, they will be deleted.

Wait while the files are copied to your thumb drive.

Close when complete

What you gotta do is get a second computer, laptop, anything really, and a USB stick at least 8gb. Plug in the usb into the secondary computer. After that you are going to have to go to the Windows 10 ISO Download Tool. Its located here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10ISO Download the tool onto the USB stick ( ANYTHING THAT IS ON THE USB STICK WILL GET DELETED, SO SAVE YOUR FILES ONTO A DIFFERENT STICK). While the process begins, it will ask you if you want to put the ISO file onto a Disc, or onto a USB. Select your USB and wait for the files to be transferred onto your USB. Once it's done, eject your USB stick. Turn off the computer you built and plug the USB stick into one of the USB ports on the back of your motherboard (I've had less hassle plugging it into the motherboard ports before in comparison to the front IO USB ports on the case). Turn on your PC and boot into BIOS. Then go to the section which lists the Boot Priority of your HDD'S/SDD'S. While in the boot up priority section, you should see your USB labled. Set your USB to first priority on boot up. Save and exit out of BIOS, and reboot your PC. Upon the next boot if you set the priority correctly, the Windows Installation tool should do its job from there. It will ask your for the Windows Version you want again, and will ask for Windows Key if you have one ( you don't need one to Install Windows, but it will be the unregistered version, meaning you wont be able to customize a few things regarding appearance, but its a fully functioning version of Windows 10!). Once you select your desired Windows version, it will ask you where you want to install Windows. Choose the drive where you would like to install it on (In this vase it will be your HDD. I highly recommend you upgrade to an SSD in the future though, it will be much faster!) Keep in mind that you want the Disk where you will install windows on to be clean. It will ask you to create a partition so it can install Windows on it. Once you select where you want to install it ( On your aformentioned HDD), the installation tool will take it from there, and after a while of it installing Windows itself, you should boot into it. Enter your Microsoft Account settings, privacy settings, etc., and you are set. Pauls Hardware as mentioned by the previous comment, will also help you. Lemme know if you get stuck and I'll help you out too!

Are you creating USB Installation media of Windows? Sorry, you can't do this if you just download it from your phone to a flash drive.

The best option to accomplish this is to find another working computer then download the Media Creation tool (Click Download tool now). Use the tool to "Create installation media (USB flash drive at least 8GB in size) to install Windows 10". Instructions inside the link.

Note: Please make sure to uncheck the "Use the recommended options for this PC" box.

Hello. Use total commander .apk. to move files, could install ventoy .apk. I do know if you use these ventoy .apk or rufus .apk it could install a non oem windows edition resulting in activations errors. I would use media creation tool for PC 💻. Using a .apk installer will work for making a bootable GNU linux but for windows flip a coin and call heads or tails thats the odds of it working properly. 50/50. Just letting you know before you get to invested. If you are in a bind and have no other option then installing GNU linux and then installing windows is an option but you would need to know the terminal commands to install windows over GNU linux.

Answer: borrow a computer and use media creation tool.
