Go here to learn how to add a payee. Search for BMO Mastercard or something similar to that. Your account# is your credit card number. Then just pay off your balance using that pay bill payee.

For me, I went into the bank and had them setup a bill payment. I think you can do it on your own by setting up a bill payment to the account #, but it was just way easier having them do it! Cheers.

I cant figure out how to set up automatic payments for my new BMO credit card. I also have a new BMO bank account and i still cant find a way to do this. I have found video tutorials from BMO from 2020/21 and the app/website just doesnt look the same anymore or have the same options. There is simply no way to do it for me. What am i missing???? I don't see it anywhere either. I see recurring and custom transfers but not for the statement balance each month.

Hope this question is appropriate for this group. I just got a new BMO credit card & I bank through RBC. I can’t figure out how to pay the BMO credit card from my RBC account & surprisingly not too much info on RBCs site for how to pay outside credit cards. Also, if anyone knows if it’s possible to set up automatic payments from RBC to BMO, please let me know!

You have to set your BMO card up as a “payee” in your RBC account. You should be able to set up monthly payments after you do this.

Definitely possible. When in online banking, you can select "Pay Bills & Transfer Funds" from the right hand menu (on the Account Summary screen). To add a Payee you select the "Add Payee" from the right hand "Relate Services" menu. I just typed in "BMO" and clicked search and it brought back several options. Search and find what works for your credit card. Once setup you can choose how much to send and from which RBC account, you can also set up a frequency to pay a set amount each month.

Yes, you normally can add the card as a bill payee. And it will usually take two or three business days for the bill payment, just like most other online bill payments. And yes, you can have a credit card from a different bank than you bank at. Many people do this.

When you add the card as a payee I believe there are instructions (not sure though, I did this several years ago). Could I have a chequing account with TD for example and a credit card with Scotia? Yes, I do this now. I bank at TD and have a Visa there, but I also have a Mastercard from BMO. Other things to consider? You are not able to set up automatic payments for the card's monthly balance. I bank at TD and my primary credit card is there as well, so it's easy to set it up to automatically pay the balance of the card because it's all under the same roof. My BMO Mastercard is a secondary/backup card. I've found the odd place that doesn't accept visa but does take mastercard (pretty rare now), and I use the mastercard for online purchases. I have to make the mastercard payment manually each month (I automate this kind of thing as much as possible). The main thing is that you have to make sure you're on top of the payment dates since you have to manually pay each one, and be sure to do it at least a few days in advance so the payment has time to go through.

I'm a little embarrassed to ask this, but I haven't been able to figure it out. I have a MasterCard issued by BMO, and it seems very easy to pay the bill from my BMO chequing account (just transfer the money, right?). I get my paychecks into my Tangerine Chequing. How do I use that account to pay the BMO credit card?
I've asked BMO how to do this, and they say I need to ask Tangerine. Tangerine says I need to ask BMO.
Background: I'm from the US, and every credit card I have there allows me to add a payment account to my credit card account. There are two ways I imagine the payment could work:

I've been trying to figure out how to tell BMO to pull money from Tangerine because that is how every US credit card I have works.

It seems like there should be a way to tell Tangerine to push money to BMO, but I don't know any information about how to do that.
There seems to be a bill pay option, but I don't know what information to put in it to make sure my money ends up going to BMO (and not just some other company or something). It wants a label for the payment and an account number... but nothing else? I've never used Bill Pay for anything in any country before - I always have set up accounts like method 1 above.
I know this is probably a really easy question, but I'm stymied with getting it all set up. I've just been using my US credit cards and paying for everything in US dollars for much too long. Thanks.

I've asked BMO how to do this, and they say I need to ask Tangerine. If you want BMO to automatically debit your Tangerine account you need to complete this form, attach a VOID cheque and send it to BMO. If you don't have a Tangerine cheque follow the instructions on this page.
