So for the past 4 years I have paid my landlord each month with Google pay. We found it to be the most convenient way after exploring different options when I first moved in. I remember reading end of last year eventually the Google pay app was shutting down, but you would still be able to send money online instead. Well fast forward to today, Google Pay app is finally shutdown. So I login to google wallet online, and I see no option to send money to someone else there. Am I missing something or is it just not an option anymore? He’s an older guy, not that tech savvy and I would prefer to keep this setup that has worked perfect than to go back to the drawing board again. It took a while to get him on Google pay back then as it was. He wanted to use Zelle, but the daily limit is less than my rent so it was not an option. iPhone user here btw if that matters.

Somebody sent me some money last night through google pay, and when I opened my app this morning, it looks like it's fully shut down and won't let me access my balance. Google wallet shows me that the person sent me that money, but gives me no way to access that money? Does anybody know how I can get to those funds?

You need to use Google Wallet via https://wallet.google.com/ . Select Payment Methods on the left and scroll down to your Google Pay balance. You will see your "Google Pay balance" card and your balance. Click on the "Google Pay balance" card and you will be given the option to Transfer Out. Note : Google have now set a $200 weekly limit on Transfer out for USA accounts. Transfer out In a rolling 7-day period, you can only make 30 withdrawals. The maximum amount of money you can transfer out is $200 USD. Important: If you want to transfer out more, you can do so after the 7-day period. After dropping support for peer to peer payments and the app, of course people will want to transfer their whole balance out. There is no benefit now in retaining a Google Pay balance. Why impose a $200 weekly transfer out limit now ? Well Google are earning more interest on people's money by imposing the $200 weekly transfer limit. Google is also likely to cause some people financial hardship as people will not be able to transfer their money out in a reasonable time. I have escalated this with Google support this morning but waiting for a response from a specialist escalation team.
