How do I get the Apple TV app on Apple TV to remember which streaming service to play through.

I would be interested in this as well if someone has found an answer for this. I have this problem with Hulu and Disney Plus. I’ve switched to watching everything in Disney Plus but it will sometimes prompt me to reinstall Hulu rather than use Disney Plus even if I watched the prior episode in Disney Plus More on reddit.com

Planning to buy an  TV Box for senior parents.

They are looking for TV shows or live TV like how they used to do it with cable TV back in the day.

What suggestions and recommendations for any methods or apps that would hit this criteria for local and/or international live or not live TV content and news?

Will be really grateful for any apps or ways on how to do it aside from Plex.

Edit: I appreciate your replies everyone. Looking for options with antenna or without an antenna is open. If we go with the antenna route, how do we connect that to the Apple TV, or is there an app for that?

The simplest solution would be most appreciated, senior citizens will be using this and are NOT tech-savvy in any way. It's an old TV and upgrading to a new TV is not an option at the moment.

If they have an antenna already you could get them an HD Homerun and the Channels app. Otherwise you’ll probably need something like Hulu Live, YouTube TV, or Sling.

(yes ik I might be breaking the rule about don’t talk about the Apple TV app but there’s no better place to post this)

A series I am watching right now is on both Crunchyroll and Amazon Prime Video. When I open it through the Apple TV app on “Up Next”, I want it to always play the series in Amazon Prime Video, NOT crunchyroll because it’s included with my prime Video subscription. However, often it will “forget” that I usually play it through prime video and instead decide to play on crunchyroll instead, and then I have to go back to the series, click “go to episode” and then click open in prime video. It keeps forgetting every 2 days or so and it drives me insane. Also it does this on my iPad too.

Is there any way to tell it which service I want it to play through? Thanks.
