Just starting to try the app, but jeez is it frustrating. One of the reasons I got it (and paid for a full year - mistake) was to try the new programs and be able to use my own music. It seems I can only listen to Spotify if I'm watching the video on my phone, but as soon as I cast to my TV via Chromecast from Android the 3 buttons to chose your music source are gone. I can play Spotify separately and turn off the sound in the app when casting, but then the cue beeps are gone.
Also, when I was using Youtube I could pause and check my email or something else on my phone, but with the app, if I switch to a different screen it gets all screwed up and I think I have to start the workout over again.
EDIT: I now see this on the website. Turns out I should have just saved the $150 I paid for the app and Chromecast and stuck with Youtube. Sigh...
Can I listen to Spotify while casting a workout to my TV?
Yes, but the music will play from your mobile or tablet, not your TV. That’s because you can’t cast two sources to a TV at the same time. If you’re already casting the video to your TV, you can’t also cast the music on top of that.

I used the Amazon Firestick and just mirrored my phone to the TV through that. It worked great. I use it all the time to watch YouTube on my phone bc I use Firefox and (for now) my ad blockers still work.

I have listened to spotify on her app, cast to a firestick in a TV, on every single workout since it started. Android. I just use the smart view on the phone and Mirror on the TV. Make sure neither are muted. I have never had a problem.
